PARIS, FRANCE: One of the masterminds of the 2016 Kim Kardashian Paris robbery, Yunis Abbas, spoke to Vice News on Saturday, August 20, stating he is not guilty of the crime committed. Abbas is one of 12 elderly men arrested for burglary in 2016. Kardashian was at gunpoint while the band of thieves now known as the 'grandpa robbers' was robbing her jewelry.

In 2016, Kim Kardashian was held up at a hotel in Paris, leading to a robbery. The armed men pretended to be cops and robbed her of several million dollars in jewelry. Kim was in the town to attend the city's Fashion Week.

Abbas spent two years in prison for the infamous $10 million heist in which Kardashian was tied up and put in the bathtub of her hotel room. “Since she was throwing money away, I was there to collect it, and that was that. Guilty? No, I don’t care,” said Abbas in the interview. “They should be a little less showy towards people who can’t afford it,” he said his opinion about Kardashian and other celebrities who excessively show off their luxurious life online. “For some people, it’s provocative,” added the mastermind of the burglary.

Further, he said, "You don't come out of it unscathed. We didn't expect this. Of course, she must have been traumatized." He also spoke out about how the gang used the Internet and social media to track down Kardashian in order to plan the robbery. "I went on the internet, and it's true, I saw her jewelry, I saw her ring, I saw that she showed it everywhere, and we knew this information through social media," added Abbas.

Abbas has been always vocal about the burglary. He has even written a memoir called “I Kidnapped Kim Kardashian". He also remembered, "Madame Kardashian’s secretary called for help. But she called 911 in the United States, which scared us, which made them lose a lot of time. And when we got out, there was a bunch of police outside who didn’t know anything about the robbery”. Abbas also said, "I saw one of her shows where she threw her diamond in the pool in that episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians. I thought: "She's got a lot of money. This lady doesn't care at all."

Kim Kardashian has revealed how she dealt with the trauma associated with the robbery. She revealed in one of the episodes of 'My Next Guest Needs No Introduction' with David Letterman that the experience left her so paranoid for over a year. Kim also claimed she has become a completely different person after the robbery in the best way by dialing back her materialism.
