A video purporting to depict the Afrobeats musician, Oxlade, known in real life as Ikuforiji Olaitan Abdulrahman, allegedly having sex with a lady, went viral on social media on February 9. The claimed footage, which was allegedly leaked on Snapchat, quickly went viral after being posted on the microblogging site on Tuesday night, February 15.

The Nigerian singer has now spoken out after the alleged sex tape involving him went viral. The rapper apologized to the young lady who was shown with him in the video in a tweet. According to Oxlade, the young woman did not deserve to be subjected to such public scrutiny. He stated that he is not one to publicize his personal affairs, therefore it is terrible that things have turned out the way they have.

Meanwhile, Oxlade noted in his essay that "betrayals are quite real," implying that the audio was shared without his permission by someone in his group.



 

He also expressed regret to his fans and supporters. Many Twitter users expressed their thoughts on the situation, with one tweet reading: "They already know the girl in that Oxlade sextape But we still don’t know who killed Bola Ige and Dele Giwa A horny Generation."



 

Another tweet read, "She should still sue you. Your apologies won’t do anything. How did it get out of your phone in the first place? Who did you send it to that betrayed you? Both of you should pay for doing that to her. I hope she does not let this go for anything. You would move on. She won’t." To which a user responded saying, "After Oxlade public apology, what else do you want him to do?? Is obvious you know the girl cos to me, you're overreacting."



 

According to another tweet, "All of you saying oxlade apology has no depth, please help him write one, should he have dropped a 10page apology before y'all agree that he is sorry, besides only the girl deserves the apology not you guys. Make una chill abeg, Daniel regha u better keep quiet."



 

Another person's tweet read, "Oxlade rightly apologised to the lady in the video and not to the mobs. Y'all want him to apologise for having sex? Delusional lots."
