Sex tape scandal: Premier League football club says man in viral threesome video is NOT their player but a lookalike

A scandalous sex tape that is being shared on WhatsApp does NOT feature a prominent married Premier League football player even though there have been widespread rumors of the same circling the web, claim sources at the player’s club. The footage is alleged to show a raunchy time between one man and two young unknown women. Fans have added fuel to the raging rumor fire by saying that the footage features a married football star, who has been described as a "household name" with the pair of women. Neither of the women is the player's wife.

The player's club has come out in support and denied all the claims that it was the happily married star in the video. The clip being shared on WhatsApp is said to be two minutes long and is alleged to be very explicit in certain parts. A fourth person can also be heard in the footage while filming the incident.

The ace player in question, whose name cannot be revealed due to legal reasons, has not come forward to comment on the clip or the rumors surrounding it. The Daily Star has attempted to contact the player's agent multiple times but has been unsuccessful in getting a response. A spokesperson for the player's club, the name of which will also not be mentioned, has not commented on the incident.

According to the publication, a source close to the footballer has slammed fans for brazenly sharing the clip and spreading rumors. They said: "It will only take a couple of idiots who have seen the footage to start singing about it and a terrace chant could take hold."

This incident, however, is not the first time that a Premier League player has been embroiled in a scandal involving sex tapes.

In 2015, three budding stars from Leicester City filmed themselves taking part in a hotel room orgy where they were seen racially abusing local Thai girls who were in the room performing sex acts with the men. Tom Hopper, Adam Smith, and James Pearson (son of Foxes manager Nigel) were named in an exclusive report that The Sunday Mirror published on June 17, 2015. The men could be heard calling one of the Thai women "slit eye" and laughing in the clip they then shared with their friends in the UK.

A spokesperson for the club had said in a statement: "Leicester City Football Club has notified Tom Hopper, Adam Smith and James Pearson that their contracts with the club have been terminated. The decision follows the conclusion of an internal investigation and disciplinary proceedings, as a consequence of events that took place during the Club’s end-of-season goodwill tour of Thailand."

In 2016, a former player for Aston Villa issued a public apology after a sex tape that had him, a team-mate and an unnamed woman performing various sex acts went viral. After the footage showed up on social media websites, fans were quick to identify the two players as Antonio Luna and Sergi Enrich.
