'Married At First Sight' star Natasha Spencer on her sex-tape horror: 'It was being passed around by tradies'

'Married At First Sight' star Natasha Spencer was in for a rude shock when an intimate video of hers was leaked earlier this month, without her consent. This took a heavy toll on her emotional and mental health as she became a 'nervous wreck' after the video was leaked on social media. She said that she 'felt gutted' that a former lover chose to do this to her.

She told Woman's Day: "I was first notified of the video circulating last week. A close friend of mine who works in construction told me the video was being passed around by tradies."

"I've faced this sort of sexism in the corporate world. On the surface, women are encouraged to embrace their sexuality and to not be embarrassed of enjoying sex but the minute we do... we're torn down," she added. 

The video was released on February 4, when Natasha's wedding to Mikey Pembroke was watched by more than 4 million Australians.

Natasha said that while she expected to be under scrutiny when she signed up for the reality show, she never imagined that privacy would be invaded in such a manner. "I knew there would be interest in my personal life, but this has gone too far," she added.

Natasha, who reported the incident to NSW Police last week, said that her experience should be a warning to other young women. "Don't do it! By all means enjoy sex, get what you want, but don't get behind the camera," she said.

The footage was filmed last year and it showed Natasha with an unidentified man. A NSW police spokesperson said: "Officers from Surry Hills Police Area Command are investigating a report made on Tuesday 11 February 2020, by a 26-year-old Lane Cove woman concerning an incident that occurred last year."

A friend of Natasha's told Daily Mail Australia last week: "She is taking this matter very seriously and is devastated. She also fears that it will have a negative impact on her career." 

Natasha was also said to be suffering 'psychological damage' due to trolling from MAFS viewers. She had shared a Facebook post where she addressed the trolls and referred to reality TV stars who had committed suicide in the past. "Stop slamming me and my castmates, you're doing psychological damage. If you want me to post suicide articles from reality shows, I'm available," she wrote.
