The great presidential debate is here, and has served as much horror as well as amusement for Americans and those glued to their television screens. It commenced with the topic of President Donald Trump's nomination of Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court. But things grew intense as Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden accused Trump of lying and even called him a "clown". Biden said: "Folks, do you have any idea what this clown is doing?" Not just that, when Trump was interrupting Biden, he finally snapped and said: "Will you shut up, man?" Biden did not want to comment about whether he would support efforts to expand the Supreme Court. But Trump compelled him to take a position on that issue and that's when Biden hit back. Times are unusual, and Americans are waiting for November 3 with feverish anticipation.

In the middle of all this, 'Our Cartoon President' continues to air, lodging its well-aimed potshots at Trump and his speeches. The political satire gives away to complete mockery. In the previous episode, we saw how Trump had to be "trained" to behave like a human so that he does not say anything criminally offensive at the presidential debate. He was even put in chains at one point. At first, there doesn't seem to be much hope, because Trump continued to be himself. Nevertheless, Kellyanne Conway and Mitch Connell worked hard at their tedious job, hoping that he will become more sensible.

In another episode, Trump had to convince the people that he managed to control the Covid-19 pandemic. Conway helped the POTUS to find out how to win the people back even if it includes wearing a hat and coming almost-shirtless to an important meeting. The point of the episode was to emphasise that most of what Trump says and does makes no sense and is a lot of waffle, but hey, he'll get the vote. As it's pointed out at the end of the episode, speeches and campaigns are bizarre and devoid of logic, which is exactly why people vote for him.

Meanwhile, Biden has been struggling to talk like former president Barack Obama. The synopsis for the next episode reads: "After Cartoon Joe Biden's record comes under scrutiny, Cartoon Kamala Harris must publicly forgive him for his problematic past. Cartoon? Mike Pence struggles with the moral dilemma of studying intimate details of a woman who is not his wife." 'Our Cartoon President' airs on Sundays at 8.30 pm on Showtime.
