Oscars 2020: Brad Pitt wins Best Supporting Actor for his role in 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood'
Brad Pitt was awarded the Best Supporting Actor at the 92nd Academy Awards held at Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, on February 9. Pitt received the Award for playing the role of Cliff Booth in 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood'.
Talking about the award, Pitt said: "Really incredible to have received this. The honor of honors really. It is all about Quentin Tarantino, you are an original and the film industry wouldn't be the same without you. Thank you for giving me a chance to play Cliff Booth."
He added, "They told me I only had 45 seconds this year, which is 45 seconds more than the Senate gave John Bolton this week."
The actor also thanked his fellow star, Leonardo Di Caprio, calling him fantastic. "Rest of the cast and crew, I also want to say its time we give it to our stunt co-ordinators. I'm not one to look back, but this is for all the wonderful people I've met. This is for my kids, I adore you."
This was Pitt's first Oscar. Other nominees in the category who gave the actor a stiff competition included: Tom Hanks ('A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood'), Joe Pesci ('The Irishman'), Anthony Hopkins ('The Two Popes') and Al Pacino ('The Irishman).
Pitt also won the 'Best Supporting Actor' at the recently concluded Golden Globe Awards, BAFTA Awards and the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
The award marks Pitt's first Oscar win for an acting category. Pitt previously won in 2012 as a producer of best picture winner '12 Years a Slave'.
