LOS ANGELES. CALIFORNIA: Priyanka Chopra joins the paltry list of celebrities after Lizzo to raise her voice against the lack of food at the coveted Met Gala Ball of 2023. Chopra, who is now promoting her film, ‘Love Again’ and the series, ‘Citadel’, said in a talk show that there “was no bread for dinner” and she was “so hungry” that her husband Nick Jonas “ordered pizza.”

On Thursday’s Good Morning America, the ‘Quantico’ star said, “There was no bread for dinner […] I was so hungry after,” before adding, “Maybe I have unrealistic expectations, but one roll of bread would be sufficient.”

However, her husband didn’t let her sleep hungry, as she says, “My husband ordered pizza by the time we got to the hotel, so we were fine.” The food menu of Vogue’s Anna Wintour hosted ball consisted of “chilled spring pea soup with baby vegetables, lemon creme fraiche, and truffle snow, followed by Ora King salmon with vegetable nage, asparagus, pickled strawberries, and radish—all served on vintage china,” as reported by Vogue.

Olivier Cheng from the Vogue special events department and caterer, told the magazine “This menu was designed to honor the late fashion icon and pay homage to his favorite foods and global palate,” before elaborating, “These dishes were created to maintain seasonality while using some of his favorite ingredients, such as King salmon. There is a sophisticated elegance to these pairings, one we feel that he would have truly enjoyed.”

'They were being really stingy with the liquor that night'

Chopra’s complaints came just in time after Lizzo made a case for the lack of food and drink at the gala apart from the long lines. In an Instagram live video, the ‘Good As Hell’ singer vented out, "There's a long f**king line," before adding, "I'm taking the glamour away from it but it's true. You've gotta wait. So you're waiting and that's the hardest part. I was sweating in a big-ass coat, my feet were hurting," reports Cosmopolitan.

She further commented about paltry servings of liquor that day, "I was like, 'B*tch? Can we get some chairs or some drinks or some hors d'oeuvres?' They were being really stingy with the liquor that night," and added, "He was like, 'Red or white wine? And I was like, 'Tequila! Do you know what I've been through? Do you know how many hours I've been in this corset? How long I've been in these damn shoes? Tequila!'"

Another celebrity who did not like the food of the glitzy event was Teyana Taylor who brought Chick-fil-A which she had during the dinner. Taylor’s neighbor at the table, Pusha T, busted her secret as he posted through an Instagram video which he captioned, “@teyanataylor is embarrassing me. She brought @chicfilausa to the #MetGala. I want her away from me... #HARLEM," he wrote on an Instagram video capturing her plate full of fries, fried chicken, with a side of dip, reports Daily Mail.

'The met gala food are so appetite suppressant'

One fan commented about food after the menu of Met Gala 2023, "Sweet raptor jesus, this is the menu for #MetGala tonight. celebrities are starving themsleves to death and paying out the nose for the privilege. What is this crime against food???" Another said, "The met gala food are so appetite suppressant." The third said, "The food?? omg y’all better be kidding #MetGala"
