Spoilers for 'NOS4A2' Season 2 Episode 4 'The Lake House'

Tabitha Hutter (Ashley Romans) has become a series regular for 'NOS4A2' Season 2. In Season 1, she was the lead detective assigned to Sharon and Haley Smith's case. It was then uncovered that there was more to the disappearance of the kids that include Strong Creatives, Vic McQueen (Ashleigh Cummings), Maggie Leigh (Jahkara Smith), and Charlie Manx (Zachary Quinto). Now, in Season 2 eight years since the events of Season 1, Hutter has become an FBI agent and has fallen in love with now girlfriend Maggie.

'The Lake House' really cemented Hutter as a series regular as she's on a mission to arrest Bing Partridge aka the Gas Mask Man (Ólafur Darri Ólafsson) who helps Manx get innocent children into his Wraith and take them away to Christmasland. Hutter isn't religious nor superstitious making her an interesting choice as a character dealing with the supernatural.

We saw her chase a lead and find Bing and Manx, and even though they got away, her resilience to make sure that Maggie is safe was clearly shown. With Manx on the hunt for Vic's son Wayne McQueen (Jason David), Maggie decides to help Vic because her tiles are able to tell her when the Wraith is coming. This is not something Hutter is too keen on considering Maggie gets intense seizures when she consults her tiles.

Maggie and Tabitha 'NOS4A2' Season 2 (AMC)

The end of Season 1 showed Maggie's tiles reveal that Bing was in the 'House of Sleep' and in this episode, Maggie's tiles revealed the same when she asked them if Tabitha was safe. That part cements the duo's relationship, because the last we saw of them, they spoke of Maggie's powers — something that Hutter knows is real, but she's still skeptical.

Vic was able to find the 'House of Sleep' in this episode using The Shorter Way and while they were able to save Tabitha from Manx and Bing, the serial killers had gotten away. It seems that Hutter might be the key to finding Manx, although we're not too sure. Her FBI skills were able to track down Bing before and she can again, especially with the help of Maggie's tiles and Vic's ability to find lost things using The Shorter Way. It seems that Hutter might be the missing puzzle piece of the gang as her job allows her to track the fugitives with her FBI backup while she can get supernatural intel from her Strong Creative girlfriend and friend.

Her relationship with Maggie seems to help the case in its entirety not only giving Manx another enemy to go after but being able to pull Bing away from Manx. If Hutter is able to find Bing again and arrest him, Manx will be left without his mortal disciple who seems to always be ready to help murder children with him and take them to Christmasland. Of course, there is no way of knowing if Bing will be caught again anytime soon, but we speculate that Tabitha's involvement in the case could be extremely beneficial.

Hutter's determination to track down Bing has not rendered since Season 1 even after her boss had told her that the last time she had brought up Bing she disobeyed protocol. To some extent, Hutter is able to use her connections in the FBI to track down the mortal half of the immortal duo of Bing and Manx. Now, as a series regular, we're speculating that Hutter's determination to find Bing can leave a huge hole in Manx's plan making him a bit more vulnerable to Vic's wrath.

'NOS4A2' Season 2 episodes air on Sundays at 10 pm ET on AMC.
