The 25th instalment of the James Bond film titled 'No Time to Die' was one of the most-awaited movies of the year, however, thanks to the unfortunate Covid-19 pandemic, movie buffs will now have to wait till April 2, 2021, in order to throng to theatres to catch leading actor Daniel Craig in full action. But in a piece of good news, the soundtrack of the spy thriller will hit the Internet very soon.

The music has been composed by Academy Award recipient Hans Zimmer, who has earlier composed music for movies like ‘Interstellar’, ‘Batman: The Dark Knight’, ‘Inception’ and others.

The official Twitter account of the James Bond movies had confirmed the news about Hans Zimmer taking over the project in January 2020 where they captioned the post: “CONFIRMED: @HansZimmer will compose the score for #NoTimeToDie. Director Cary Joji Fukunaga said: “I’m beyond excited that Hans is scoring #NoTimeToDie. The music of Bond has always been iconic and I’ve already witnessed Hans adding his touch of genius to the Bond legacy.”

According to the website Genius, previously, composer Dan Romer was roped in for the project, however, he bailed out citing “creative differences”. It also came to notice later that Hans Zimmer would not be sharing his album credit with Romer presumably due to the latter’s low level of involvement with the finished product.

Release date

The official soundtrack of ‘No Time to Die’ was first supposed to hit the Internet on March 27, 2020, but it got postponed due to the global pandemic. The soundtrack will now be released on November 13, 2020, via Decca Records.

Concept

Speaking about the soundtrack, Zimmer in an official press release, as published by ClassicFM, said, “Having the opportunity to work on a franchise as iconic as 007 has been an incredibly humbling experience.

‘No Time to Die’ features Daniel Craig as 007, Rami Malek as Safin, Ralph Fiennes as M and Naomie Harris as Moneypenny. The title track has been sung by Billie Eilish along with production credits from her brother Finneas O'Connell. At just 18, Eilish became the youngest artiste in history to write and record a Bond theme.

While talking to GQ magazine recently, Zimmer also shed light on how closely he worked on ‘No Time To Die’ the song and asserted, “It’s a Bond film, there's going to be a song and there was like a box full of songs lying around that people were listening to and trying to make decisions on them. They wanted me to be part of the decision-making process. There was this small, leanly produced, very personal song by Billie. I just went, 'That's it'."

He added, "And everybody said, 'Well, but it's not quite right. It's not good.' [I said] 'No, no, no, here's the mistake you're making: she and Finneas haven't seen the movie yet. They don't know what they're writing about. Get them on a plane, get them over here'. So on a dark, grey, typical English night, they arrived in the middle of Soho, jet-lagged beyond anything, and we showed them the movie and the next day the three of us got to work on it.”
