'No Time to Die': Hans Zimmer takes over as composer for upcoming Bond movie after Dan Romer's exit
With 'No Time to Die', set to release this April, there are new updates coming in almost every day and this time it is about the epic score of the 25th James Bond flick.
According to a report by Variety, Hans Zimmer has been roped in to work on the score for 'No Time to Die', stepping in for composer Dan Romer.
The site also added that Romer had earlier partnered with Cary Fukunaga, the director on 'Beasts of No Nation and 'Maniac'.
Zimmer is an 11-time Oscar nominee who comes in with the experience of working on some major projects — 'Interstellar', 'The Dark Knight', 'The Lion King', 'Gladiator' and 'Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice' to name a few.
"Creative differences" are said to have been the reason for Romer’s dismissal from the Bond movie last month by Eon Productions, the Broccoli family enterprise that has made all the Bond films dating back to 1962.
According to the report, Zimmer may need to enlist help to finish composing the score on time, as the film is slated for an April release and recording will likely need to be completed by mid-February.
The official log-line of the film states that "[Bond’s] peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology."
Lea Seydoux (Dr. Madeleine Swann), Jeffrey Wright (Felix Leiter), Ben Whishaw (Q), Rory Kinnear (Tanner) and Ralph Fiennes (M) return.
The list of newcomers includes David Denick ('Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy'), Lashana Lynch (of 'Captain Marvel'), Dali Benssalah, Billy Magnussen ('Black Mirror') and Ana De Armas ('Blade Runner 2049'). Oscar-winner Rami Malek will play the villain, Safin.
'No Time to Die' releases on April 10, 2020.
