Early life

On May 19, 1992, Nikocado Avocado aka Nicholas Perry was born in Ukraine. He said that shortly after, he was adopted and raised in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The vlogger admitted to YouTuber Trisha Paytas that he was aware of his adoption from a young age and found it difficult to understand his birth parents' choice. He said that as a result, he misbehaved as a youngster and required mental health therapy.

Avocado also revealed to Paytas that he had been given antidepressants at the age of seven. He said that he was later diagnosed with ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) and OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder) when he was an adolescent.

Pre-YouTube career

The YouTuber talked openly about his prior profession as a freelance violinist on Paytas' show. Perry, who was 21 and a resident of New York, had aspirations of participating in a Broadway production's pit orchestra. Although he possessed musical skill, he noted that it was challenging to support himself in a city full of brilliant and ambitious musicians.

Love life

Avocado and Orlin Home met while living in New York. The two allegedly first connected in a Facebook community for vegan males, according to a video Avocado shared in 2016. When Home traveled to the United States from Colombia for the Woodstock Fruit Festival, they finally met in person in New York after several months of correspondence.

Although Avocado showed up in a tuxedo for their first encounter to serenade Home, the two started out as friends. However, their friendship developed into something more after they journeyed across central America together, according to Home.

Allegations of 'abusive behavior'

The 29-year-old gained notoriety in 2020 for his months-long dispute with other YouTubers who accused him of abusive behavior during a cooperation video, which he subsequently refuted to Insider. At the time, the 29-year-old used to publish a video practically every day.

Following the charge, Avocado released a series of contentious reaction videos that alarmed viewers and the whole YouTube community. Avocado has persisted in posting outrageous clips of his antics, creating a significant platform around his issues.

When Avocado claimed in a video from September 2021 that he had fractured three ribs and was bedridden, it sparked more arguments with other creators who took issue with his usage of the word ‘disabled’ to describe his injuries.
