Nick Jonas reveals how he and wife Priyanka Chopra celebrated daughter Malti Marie's first birthday
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Nick Jonas and his wife, Priyanka Chopra, made their daughter's first birthday memorable. In a recent interview, Jonas discussed the celebration of Malti Marie's first birthday and said that the couple celebrated her birthday "in style."
"We had to celebrate. She went through a pretty wild journey in the early part of her life, and so we thought we had to celebrate in style," he told Kelly Clarkson during an appearance on her talk show. The singer revealed that they made the decision to throw a celebration "over the weekend" prior to Malti's actual birthday on January 15. "She's one. She's beautiful. It's amazing," he gushed.

After the talk show host remarked on how "adorable" Malti was, the Jonas Brothers member agreed by referring to his daughter as "the best." When asked about his New Year's resolutions, Jonas continued to gush about his daughter and spoke about the duties that came with being a parent. He confessed that he had some "goals and ambitions" for 2023, but none were more important than being a father to Malti. "There's a lot on the personal front being a new father, so that's taking up most of my time," he explained, to which Clarkson jokingly asked, "Are you gonna try to sleep this year?"
The couple's child was born via surrogacy 12 weeks early in January 2022, in a hospital in Los Angeles, where Malti stayed in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) for 100 days, until she was well enough to go home with her parents. "After 100 plus days in the NICU, our little girl is finally home," Jonas wrote in an Instagram post in May 2o22. "Every family's journey is unique and requires a certain level of faith, and while ours was a challenging few months, what becomes abundantly clear, in retrospect, is how precious and perfect every moment is. We are overjoyed that our little girl is finally home, and just want to thank every doctor, nurse and specialist at Rady Children's La Jolla and Cedar Sinai, Los Angeles, who were there selflessly every step of the way. Our next chapter begins now, and our baby is truly a badass. Let's get it M! Mommy and Daddy love you," the post further read.
