Rosie O'Donnell, 59, recently went on TikTok to tell fans about how she 'embarrassed' herself in front of Priyanka Chopra and her husband Nick Jonas as well as her son, his girlfriend, and friend Fran Drescher, after she assumed that Priyanka Chopra was the daughter of famous self-help guru Deepak Chopra.
In the video that she posted on TikTok, she narrates the conversation that led up to the very embarrassing moment. “So when I said, ‘Hi, Nick Jonas. You were great in “Kingdom” and ‘Hi, [Priyanka]. I know your dad.’ She goes, ‘You do? Who’s my dad?’ And I’m like, ‘Deepak.' She’s like, ‘No, and Chopra is a common name.’ … I felt so embarrassed,” Rosie said, explaining the conversation that they had at Nobu Malibu.

Towards the end of the video, Rosie apologizes for her wrong assumption. “Nick Jonas, I apologize and to the Chopra wife, I apologize too,” she is heard saying in the video. Fans were still not impressed and several TikTok users commented that it would have been more polite on Rosie's part if she addressed Priyanka by her name itself. “Maybe learn her name if you’re going to apologize,” a user commented under the video.
Shortly after posting the video, Rosie O'Donnell posted another video to apologise yet again while also settling the doubt around some confusions. “So I’m reading the comments about my [interaction with] Nick Jonas and his wife, Priyanka Chopra, who I mistakenly thought was Deepak’s daughter. People thought that she was rude. She wasn’t rude, it was just awkward. I’m sure she gets sick of that. I’m sure I’m not the only one. According to the comments, a lot of people thought that too but she’s apparently a very well-known actress and more famous than him, people were saying. So I’m sure it felt weird to her, to begin with,” she said in the video, adding, Anyway, Priyanka is her name. Priyanka. I hope I’m pronouncing that right. I just want to apologize to her and to everyone who thought that it was really inappropriate of me. Sorry, sometimes I f–k up. I did at Nobu.”
