New Years Day releases title track from upcoming album

Rock band New Years Day has dropped 'Half Black Heart', the title track from their forthcoming 5th studio album. 'Half Black Heart; will be out in on March 1. New Years Day announced 'Half Black Heart' in late 2023, following the release of 'Vampyre' and 'Secrets'. The record also features the band’s 2022 hit 'Hurts Like Hell' and recent single 'I Still Believe'. Last fall they also embarked on The Kiss of Death Tour with In This Moment and Ice Nine Kills, in addition to being featured on WWE NXT’s Halloween Havoc.

Camp Punksylvania adds more bands to festival lineup

Camp Punksylvania Music & Camping Festival has announced another round of artists set to perform at the 4th annual event. Pennsylvania’s first punk rock summer camp, Camp Punksylvania takes place July 5-7, 2024 at the West End Fairgrounds.

Artists such as The Bronx, The Dirty Nil and Some Kind of Nightmare have been announced, along with several regional up-and-coming acts. The Bronx are scheduled to appear as the Saturday night headliner for the festival.

Japanese singer Mieko Shimizu re-releases 'My Tentacles'

Japanese singer and multi-instrumentalist Mieko Shimizu re-released her single 'My Tentacles' on February 9. 'My Tentacles' which has picked up BBC 6 Music airplay from Deb Grant & Tom Ravenscroft, is the title track of the soon to be re-released album of the same name. If you’re not already familiar, Mieko has played at Sonar, alongside Kraftwerk as well as support for Goldfrapp and Massive Attack at their Melt Down Festival. She is currently artist in residence for Wonky Plonky Electronk, an experimental, electronic live event which is touring the UK throughout 2024, the next show being on March 28 at The Cinema Room at All Is Joy in London.

Gab De La Vega is still 'Preaching to the Choir' 

Gab De La Vega has returned to his punk roots with the new single 'Preaching To The Choir', the third single from the upcoming album 'Life Burns', set for release on March 1, 2024. 'Life Burns' is being released by SBÄM Records worldwide, in collaboration with Sell The Heart Records (United States), Epidemic Records, Motorcity Produzioni, and Overdrive (all in Italy).



 

As release day approaches, Gab De La Vega has already announced a release party for 'Life Burns'. He'll be performing with his band The Open Cages at Monamì Live Social Space in Montichiari (Brescia, Italy) on March 9. A tour with full band as well as solo acoustic performances will follow.

Wild Rivers heads out on tour with Noah Kahan

Platinum indie-trio Wild Rivers has hit the road at 3Arena in Dublin, supporting Grammy-nominated artist Noah Kahan on his sold-out UK/EU tour. Noah, a personal fan of the band, hand-picked the group for the dates, which include two nights at Wembley Arena in London and a night at L'Olympia in Paris. Following the news of the support run, the band announced a headline UK/European tour this November that will start in Berlin on November 4 and include stops in Paris, Glasgow, Berlin, London, and more. The band has also dropped 'Everywhere I Go', their first new single in over a year. 

Side Saddle all beefed up on 'Wine & Spirits'

Side Saddle has dropped the new single 'Wine & Spirits'. The song marks the band’s first new music since the release of the 'Waltermelon' EP, which was favorably compared to Nada Surf and Death Cab for Cutie.

Now based in north Texas, Ian and his bandmates will be releasing their upcoming EP 'Forever and a Little While', produced and mixed by Peter Katis (The National, Hozier, Kurt Vile), later this spring. 'Forever and a Little While' marks the first time Side Saddle has worked with an outside producer.

Nine-time Grammy Award winner and 2023 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductee Sheryl Crow has released 'Do It Again', the new single from her upcoming 11th full-length studio album, 'Evolution', out on March 29. “I feel like I’ve been writing this song for thirty years,” Crow explains. “To me, life is one long exploration in how to live joyfully. It’s a work in progress.”

Featuring nine new songs, the album is produced by Mike Elizondo (Dr. Dre, Maroon 5, Keith Urban, Gary Clark Jr.) and will be released via The Valory Music Co.

Will Hoge drops new single ahead of European and US tour

EDLO Records/Soundly Music and Nashville-based singer-songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Will Hoge have released 'I’d Be Lying', the latest single to be lifted from the April 12 release of 'Tenderhearted Boys', the Grammy-nominated artist’s 14th studio album.



 

Additionally, Hoge will be making numerous headline and support appearances across the US, UK and Europe during February and March in support of Tenderhearted Boys.

Trip-hop pioneer Eric Hilton releases 'Poppy Fields' 

Montserrat House Music and trip-hop pioneer Eric Hilton have released 'Poppy Fields', the latest uptempo single lifted from the February 23 release of 'Sound Vagabond', a 14-track travelogue by one of the godfathers of downtempo electronic music.



 

 “Some memories of the places I've been are very clear. Others are distant, nostalgic echos,” Hilton says of his latest showcase. “This record started modestly with some basic ideas, but after writing the first eight tracks, I knew I had a travelogue.”

Hilton offers “Poppy Fields,” “Closer” and “Midnight Milan” from Sound Vagabond in the form of three 7” colored vinyl releases that feature an unreleased B-side on each. 

Marcellus Hall release third solo album 'I Will Never Let You Down'

Marcellus Hall's third solo album, 'I Will Never Let You Down', has been released on all digital platforms, on vinyl via Bandcamp in the US, and the German label, Gutfeeling, in Europe. A collection of power-pop, this is Hall's first solo album in 10 years and includes long-time accompanists Damon Smith (bass) and Mike Shapiro (drums) and follows 'The First Line' (2011) on Glacial Pace Records and the self-released 'Afterglow' (2013).



 

In the past couple of months, Hall released two singles from the album; 'One Night', with a video directed by Andrew Cooper and 'Behind The Stadium', featuring stop-motion animation from Nancy Howell and Mark Lerner.

Award-winning Swedish folk-pop duo Smith & Thell are back with a brand new single 'Waste of Time', their first material with Nettwerk. Maria Smith (vocals, guitar) and Victor Thell (vocals, guitar, production) have simultaneously established themselves as one of Sweden's most sought-after songwriter and producer duo. Previously winning the 2020 Swedish Grammy award for Composer of the Year, their writing credits for artists such as Jennifer Lopez, Ava Max, Martin Garrix, Alan Walker among others.

New Haven, CT-based rock and roll band The Problem With Kids Today has released their much-anticipated debut album 'Born To Rock'. The album arrives after the release of singles 'All I Wanna Be', 'Speed Freak', 'Leather Jacket Blues', 'What Else Could I Say' and 'Speed Freak' which are on all streaming platforms. The album was recorded with Adam Lasus (Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Yo La Tengo).

The band is also announcing several east coast tour dates where they will be be performing tracks off their upcoming album. The band has a hometown release show on February 9 at Cafe 9 in New Haven and will be playing shows in New York City, Wallingford, CT and more.

Jenni Muldaur and Teddy Thompson channel Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn

Jenni Muldaur and Teddy Thompson have released the music video for their cover version of 'After The Fire Is Gone'. The original was a hit for country legends Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn. The video, now out via Sun Records, is a poignant portrayal of a young couple's emotional drift.



 

Directed by Lucy Tamarkin and produced by Henry Berger, the music video features actors Lila Dolliner and August Blum. "Our aim was to capture the song's essence visually, echoing the emotional depth and legacy it represents,” shares Jenni Muldaur. “It's a tribute not only to the original artists but also to our musical roots."

Wes Hoffman and Friends release video of new single 'Paper Hearts'

Jump Start Records has announced it will be releasing the new LP from Wes Hoffman and Friends this month. The video for their new single 'Paper Hearts' has also been released. Wes Hoffman and Friends is a midwest pop punk band based out of St Louis. In 2020 Wes began writing their debut EP, 'Rewrite The Story'. Since the release of the EP in January 2022, the band hit the road playing all over the midwest along with appearances in Canada, Denver, and Philadelphia.



 

With more tour dates, festivals, and upcoming releases, Wes Hoffman and Friends show no signs slowing down. In 2023, they signed with Jump Start Records to release their debut full length album, 'How It Should Be', due out on February 23.

Country music star TG Sheppard and singer-songwriter/author Kelly Lang join forces once again for their first single, 'You’re Still The One', from their upcoming duets album to be released later this spring. Initially released by Shania Twain in 1998, 'You’re Still The One' remains one of Twain’s biggest hits. Never released as a duet, Sheppard and Lang have been fans of the song for years, often singing it to each other privately around their home, making it the perfect single for Valentine’s Day!
