Las Cafeteras release their third studio album 'A Night In Nepantla'
East Los Angeles' band Las Cafeteras has released their third full-length studio album, 'A Night In Nepantla', featuring a synth-laden fusion of traditional Mexican folk and electronic dance beats for fans of Latin music to enjoy.
Las Cafeteras enlists an array of celebrated collaborators and producers to share their stories of longing and love while putting the spotlight on pressing issues affecting their communities. 'A Night In Nepantla features Las Cafeteras alongside David Garza (Fiona Apple), Moises Baquero (Los Abandoned), Sergio Mendoza (Natalia LaFourcade, Calexico, Mexican Institute of Sound) and LA-based DJ/Producer David Cardena.
Las Cafeteras dives into themes of cultural hybridity and identity from the writings of Gloria Anzaldúa and her book, 'The Borderlands'. "Nepantla" serves as a metaphor for the lived experiences of people who exist at the intersections of multiple, often-conflicting cultural, ethnic, and social identities. Frontman and singer Hector Flores, says, "As a band, we deeply resonate with the land of 'Nepantla' and feel that we live in the middle of multiple worlds, sounds and identities, and this album brings people together to sonically join us in our joy, grief, struggle, and liberation in Nepantla."

Winona Fighter releases new single 'I’m In The Market To Please No One' with music video
Punk rock act Winona Fighter has signed with Rise Records and dropped their new single and music video, 'I’m In The Market To Please No One', an "empowering punk rock anthem is all about standing up for yourself and no longer tolerating toxic relationships".
Front-woman Chloe Kinnon shares, “It doesn’t take a genius to hear that 'I’m In The Market To Please No One' came from a place of anger. However, it means so much more than that. I had recently found an unsent letter to a boy I had known in college, the type of boy you wish you had never met. In this letter, I sounded so powerless. It made me feel gross, but it also made me realize I have the opportunity to get how I really feel, after years of growth, all out on paper. Thus 'I’m In The Market To Please No One' was born.”
