Netflix may postpone Harry and Meghan's show to avoid an attack on royal family, expert claims
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A royal expert is speaking up on the possibility of Harry and Meghan's Netflix show will be delayed until next year. The couple's eagerly anticipated tell-all docuseries was scheduled to debut in December this year. Kinsey Schofield, a royal specialist, speculates that Netflix may be concerned that the upcoming series may appear to be a criticism of the royal family.
Schofield told the Daily Star, "The entire idea of Netflix postponing Harry and Meghan's project due to backlash from The Crown has to make you wonder if Netflix fears that their content will look like a pile-on or an attack of the British royal family. If Harry and Meghan's documentary was this 'historic love story' that Meghan is trying to bill it as there's no way it would be considered an issue." The series may have been postponed as a result of Harry and Meghan's reputation loss as royal, according to Schofield. She said, "The Sussexes are household names. They will always be celebrities. However, I do think that Hollywood has labeled them problematic. Dramatic. And entitled. You don't want to get a reputation for being difficult in the business and with leaks of last-minute changes and delays, they're not on the right path."

Harry and Meghan Netflix documentary postponed till 2023 following attacks on 'The Crown'
The pair apparently encountered problems with Netflix earlier this month after raising objections to particular scenes. A source revealed to Page Six, "Harry and Meghan are panicked about trying to tone down even the most basic language. But it’s their story, from their own mouths. They’re rattled at Netflix and they blinked first and decided to postpone the documentary." However, on Monday, October 17, a new source told Page Six that the December release date was still planned, refuting rumors that the Netflix show had been delayed. “As far as I am aware, the docuseries is still going ahead later this year,” the source remarked.
Meanwhile, a Deadline report published earlier this week suggested that the show had been postponed until 2023 in response to criticism of the upcoming season of the popular television show ‘The Crown’. According to a source, Netflix employees were rattled by the criticism, which is why they chose to put the Harry and Meghan documentary on hold. A production insider was quoted by the Daily Mail as saying that the streaming service was being spooked by the media's reaction to 'The Crown'. Peter Morgan, the show's screenwriter, was horrified by the criticism, the insider added. The Daily Mail source added that the show wasn’t about sensationalism, though it had always been a drama. There was ample historical documentation and an overall consensus over the content of the earlier series, which nobody found hurtful.
