In 'Elite' Season 5 Episode 5, we see Samuel (Itzan Escamilla) publicly confessing in school that he was the one who murdered Armando de le Ossa. But we all know the real truth — Armando was killed by Guzmán (Miguel Bernardeau) at Phillipe's New Year's Eve celebration. Rebe (Claudia Salas) and Samuel helped cover up the murder by throwing his body in a river. So why is Samuel the one who is thrown under the bus?

Omar (Omar Ayuso) discovered Armando's dead body near the lake on the day of the fundraiser. Samuel then called the police,  The series 'Elite' kicked off with a murder investigation, as always, and looks to be duplicating its own plot in order to keep the series moving forward. As the investigation into Armando's death gets underway, Benjamin (Diego Martin) finds himself in the limelight, as the police believe he is the one who killed De La Ossa for reasons related to the previous season.

'Elite' Season 5: A new student catches Patrick's eye

The next day at school, the police arrive and begin an investigation into Benjamin and his office. When the Commerford siblings discuss their father, Mencia (Martina Cariddi) says, "What if dad really did that?" but the other two siblings think Benjamin can't do it. Later, Ivan (André Lamoglia) confronts Ari (Carla Diaz) about the two hooking up at the Lake, but Ari tells him not to contact her since she feels it was a mistake. Also, our janitor Cayetana (Georgina Amoros) is seen having drinks with a friend, and her pal advises her to have fun, and she begins to manifest the type of gentleman she wants. Caye takes her advice, and she bumps into an old friend she remembers from the past, the Ngo guy. Then they run into the new couple, Prince Phillipe (Pol Granch) and Empress Isadora (Valentina Zenere), and all of them are suddenly on a double date and eating dinner together. You'll see Isadora use drugs throughout the series, and she does the same at the restaurant, which leads to her being high, and Caye helps her get home, which happens to be a 5-star hotel suite.

Caye and Isadora have a long conversation and you discover that Isadora is one of those rich kids who has everything but love. Returning to Samuel's case, the police investigation into Benjamin's office unearths the evidence that something happened between Benjamin and his daughter Mencia. Basically, the cops ask Benjamin for this phone as part of their investigation, and he turns it over. They then question whether he has more than one phone, to which he responds that he does not. However, you'll notice Benjamin hugging Mencia and whispering in her ear to take out the phone and keep it hidden. Benjamin abruptly forgets that the camera he set at the school to monitor those teenagers would also be the one to catch his act, which the police will notice and confront Mencia about.

Samuel, Rebe, and Omar in ‘Elite’ Season 5 (Netflix)

Mencia and the officer are in the room, and the investigation is proceeding when Samuel enters and confesses, "I murdered De La Ossa." But why did he suddenly admit this when he didn't do it? Did it also have anything to do with the fact that he is trying to keep it hidden from everyone? Here's all you need to know about why Samuel did what he did.

Basically, it was clear that the whole situation would fall on Benjamin since every proof pointed to him. Benjamin asked Samuel to throw Guzmán under the bus, but Samuel refused, therefore Benjamin now has a third option. So Benjamin tells Samuel that if Samuel will confess to the police, he will do all in his power to save him and will hire the services of his finest lawyers. In addition, Samuel will never have to worry about his future or expenses since Benjamin would take care of everything and provide everything for Samuel's future. Benjamin also tells Samuel that he can live with his family. Samuel had so much faith in Benjamin that he ultimately did this and was arrested in front of the entire school. But here's the thing: will the real reason for Armando's death ever be revealed? Will the true culprit be prosecuted, or will it always be Samuel who suffers in prison? Will Samuel have a future or is he doomed?

‘Elite’ Season 5 is now streaming on Netflix.
