One of the biggest icons of country music, Neil Young, is 74 years old and he is still putting out music for his loyal fans. The iconic singer-songwriter is all set to release his new album titled 'The Times'.

The American crooner had announced his new project in mid-August. He had shared one of the singles from his new album called ‘Lookin’ For A Leader’ on his official YouTube channel and had announced it with a simple caption: "I invite the President to play this song at his next rally. A song about the feelings many of us have about America today, it's part of the 'The Times,' and EP coming soon from Reprise Records — my home since 1968."

You can check out the song here.

Release date

Young's new album ‘The Times’ will be his 41st studio album and is a follow-up to his 2020 June album ‘Homegrown'. The new record will hit the Internet on September 18 via Amazon Music. The veteran rocker had said in an official statement, “I’m on Amazon Music because no one delivers better sound to the masses.”

Young had also shared a cover art on his official Twitter account in early September. The EP cover shows the rocker sitting in the dark with his guitar and a mike. His face is not visible but his posture indicates he is singing into the mic.

Concept

'The Times' features Young’s recent cover of Bob Dylan’s iconic track ‘The Times They Are A-Changin’ and apart from this, the new record will also include ‘Lookin’ For A Leader 2020′ which is a remake of Young’s track ‘Lookin’ For A Leader’ and it aims at US President Donald Trump. Looking at these two tracks, it can be assumed that his new project might be politically charged.

Tracklist

Young’s ‘The Times’ will come with seven songs which are as follows:

‘Alabama’
‘Campaigner’
‘Ohio’
‘The Times They Are A-Changin’
‘Lookin’ for a Leader 2020’
‘Southern Man’
‘Little Wing’

Where to stream

Fans can enjoy Young’s new work on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music and YouTube.
