NBC's New Year's Eve 2021: Time, Host, performers, how to live stream and all about the special event from Times Square
There are a bunch of virtual New Year’s events lined-up to make sure everyone sits at home, keeping in mind the ongoing global pandemic. One of the must-watch live events is ‘NBC's New Year's Eve 2021’ where we will see some of the top global musicians performing their respective hit numbers.
According to the official website, the network has kept all the health and safety guidelines on priority and therefore, there will be no public access to the New Year's Eve countdown or the ball drop in Times Square. Here’s everything else you need to know about NBC’s New Year’s special.
Host
Carson Daly, whom we recently saw hosting the 19th season of the singing reality show ‘The Voice’ will return as the host of NBC’s special event straight from Times Square. This will also mark his 16th year since he left MTV in 2002. Daly joined NBC in the same year where he began hosting and producing the late-night talk show ‘Last Call with Carson Daly.’ He also occasionally hosted special event programming for NBC, such as the ‘Macy's Fourth of July’ fireworks show. Daly also executively produced ‘New Year's Eve with Carson Daly’ from Times Square beginning in 2003.
Amber Ruffin, star of Peacock's ‘The Amber Ruffin Show’ and writer for ‘Late Night with Seth Meyers,’ and Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss, DJ and co-executive producer for ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ will also join Daly in the hosting activities.

NBC has roped in a power-packed line-up to make sure the viewers thoroughly enjoy the show from their homes. Artists like AJR, Busta Rhymes featuring Anderson .Paak, Chloe x Halle, CNCO, Jason Derulo, Goo Goo Dolls, Kylie Minogue, Pentatonix, Bebe Rexha featuring Doja Cat, Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani and Sting featuring Shirazee will hit the stage minus the live audience.

As the name says, ‘NBC's New Year's Eve 2021’ will be broadcasted on the NBC network. The event will be aired on Thursday, December 31, 2020 from 10 pm to 11 pm ET/PT and will break for local news and return for the final countdown to the iconic ball drop from 11:30 pm-12:30 am. ET/PT. Apart from the NBC network, viewers can also watch the New Year’s special event on the NBC app from most devices. The audience sitting at home can also access NBC with a Hulu + Live TV subscription, a YouTube TV subscription or through fuboTV.
