Later on, Jane attends a lavish party at the palace, surrounded by nobles and courtiers. In a pivotal moment, she seizes the opportunity to converse with the Duke of Norfolk (Will Keen).

She informs him to prepare the army to defend against Princess Mary, should she launch an attack.

As the episode unfolds, the Duke of Norfolk escapes from the palace, revealing his allegiance to Princess Mary.

His escape leaves Jane in an even more precarious and vulnerable position, as she now faces the mounting threat from Princess Mary without the promised military support.
