GREENSBORO, NORTH CAROLINA: Barbara Thore, the mother of 'My Big Fat Fabulous Life' star Whitney Way Thore, recently died of cerebral amyloid angiopathy. Whitney shared an emotional video on Instagram and informed her fans that she is at Abbotswood, cleaning her mother's stuff.
Whitney further thanked her fans for showing concern toward her family after Barbara died. 'My Big Fat Fabulous Life' says in the video, "Hi y'all. I'm over here at Abbotswood cleaning out my mom's stuff and I just wanted to say thank you." She then talked about how her fans have been sending her consoling message by gifting cards and other things. Whitney's eyes filled with tears as she talked about her mother's things in the video.

Whitney says in the video, "knowing how much she (Barbara) is loved is really a comfort to us." The star further shares how it's been too hard for her and her father ever since Barbara passed away. Whitney claims, "It's been kind of hard." She further shared one emotional experience where she and her father teared up. Whitney says, "I was getting rid of her curlers, she's had them for 50 years, and something about like getting rid of her curlers, me and my dad, both, we just like teared up." Just looking at Barbara's curlers brought back the flashback of a lot of memories Whitney and her father had with her.
With teary eyes, Whitney claimed in the video that she is lying in Barbara's bed. She says, "I used to lay here every night." Now, when her mother is dead Whitney really misses her a lot. 'My Big Fat Fabulous Life' star further ended the video explaining why she wanted to share her experience with her fans. Whitney says, "It's been helpful for me to read other people's experiences, you know, losing a parent." She gathered her emotions back and claims that she misses her mother and is very thankful to all fans who have shown love to Whitney's family. The star captioned the clip, "Thank you," dedicating it to her Instagram fans.
Fans continued to support Whitney in the comment section by sharing their own experiences. One wrote, "I know how you feel I lost both my parents last year dad in April and mom in July. Love to you and your family." Another fan said, "So sorry Whitney. I lost my mom in April. I can’t get rid of anything yet. I have her whole house pretty much exactly the same still. One day." Another shared, "My mom passed away on Nov 12, 2022. It is still so hard. We still haven't gone through her stuff yet. It's just that everything has a memory. It's hard to let go of something that you know was your mom's and she valued. She still had a lot of clothes still with tags on them. She loved shopping. Plus, I look at her clothes and remember her wearing them." The fans in the comment section continued to share the experience of losing close ones in order to help Whitney overcome her loss.
