GREENSBORO, NORTH CAROLINA: 'My Big Fat Fabulous Life' star Whitney Way Thore met with heartbreaking news on December 7, 2022, when the TLC star discovered that her mother, Barbara "Babs" Thore, had died. The Thore matriarch reportedly died watching her favorite movie, surrounded by her family.

Now the 'My Big Fat Fabulous Life' star shared a saddening video of her mother’s casket during her funeral on Instagram. The star also added a poignant caption with the video where she quoted Christian author Henry Scott Holland. Whitney also wrote in the video, “Rest in peace Sweet Mommy. You were the best mother and my best friend. I will love you and live for you every minute for the rest of my life.”

In the caption, Whitney quoted Henry Scott Holland’s famous death poem, which is often recited at funerals. The poem is part of the sermon "Death the King of Terrors.” The video by the TLC star shows Barbara’s, aka Babs' casket, which is decorated with red roses, being carried by her friends and family into the funeral service chapel.

Whitney had shared the devastating news about her mother’s death on Instagram with a video featuring photos of Barbara. She had revealed, "My mother died last night just as the credits rolled on her favorite movie. Dad, Hunter, and I held her as she took her last breaths. It was 10.32 pm, the same exact time she brought me into this world almost forty years ago."

She continued to state that Barbara had cerebral amyloid angiopathy, an untreatable condition that causes dementia, seizures, and strokes. Whitney said her mom had three strokes in the last five years, including two in the past 12 months. Her last stroke was in November 2022.

The reality star continued to write in her message, “My mother is our family’s greatest gift. We could never love, revere, or value another person more. If you’re reading this, you’re familiar with her magic: her southern charm, her hilarious sense of humor, her well-timed witty remarks, her beauty, and her ability to make everyone around her feel comfortable and cared for.” Adding, “But what you can’t possibly understand is the extent of my mother’s love — what you may have witnessed and felt through a TV screen is a minute fraction that, even if multiplied by a million, wouldn’t come close to “real life.” That’s how enormous, how generous, and how all-encompassing my mother’s love was. I am the luckiest person on the planet to have been hers for almost 39 years.”

She also thanked her fans and followers, saying, “The support from all of you made her feel so loved and encouraged. We are unbelievably thankful that we’ve been able to share her."
