Doja Cat is easily one of the most sought-after acts in contemporary music, such that even global superstars like BTS say they want to collaborate with her someday. The singer certainly knows how to put on a show and she proved that once again with her stage performance at 2020 MTV Video Music Awards that had even her fellow acts throwing praise her way.

Doja has had quite the rollercoaster of a year, that began with the release of her smash hit 'Say So', the fifth single from her second studio album, 'Hot Pink' which dropped last year. The song dominated the charts and managed to bring the artist and her oft-cited 'nemesis' Nicki Minaj together on an equally-successful remix version. But the celebrations soon devolved into drama as Doja found herself canceled by the Internet for past mistakes. Not one to take things lying down, the singer made sure to apologize before it was revealed the singer had an upcoming track with Ariana Grande as well as more new music on the way.

As Doja took the stage for the VMAs on August 30, performing 'Say So' as well as 'Like That', Chloe x Halle couldn't help but tweet in support of the singer, stating "C’mon @DojaCat killed that." One fan responded, "SHE SERVED," and soon, fans were begging for the two acts to team-up with several stating, "COLLAB." Doja, who performed dressed in her signature catsuit look, this time bathed in iridescent colors and surrounded by equally colorfully-dressed dancers who also happened to be wearing tentacles on their bodysuits, clearly rose to the occasion. But the love from Chloe x Halle has some wondering if this means the singer can be forgiven for her past mistakes. One fan asked the duo, "Sooooo. Yall forgiving dojacat?"

Doja slayed her performance so hard, it had fans awarding her the 'best performance of the night'. Other performers at the VMAs included Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, BTS, Chloe x Halle, The Weeknd and more, but fans think Doja put them all to shame with her set. One tweet read, "@DojaCat EASILY BEST PERFORMANCE OF THE NIGHT, GAGA IS THE SAY SO OF THE 2020 VMAS, A BIT OVERRATED AT THIS POINT." Others thought the artist shared her title with Chloe x Halle, stating, "YALL AND DOJA HAD THE BEST OF THE NIGHT."
