MTV Video Music Awards 2019 (VMAs) red carpet: Taylor Swift, Lizzo and Camilla Cabello lead best-dressed celebrities
Making bold fashion statements in risqué gowns, the biggest celebrities from the music industry stepped it up in style at the MTV Video Music Awards 2019. The awards night is known for some of the most controversial style statements that go down history—right from Madonna's iconic "Boy Toy" look from the '80s to Gwen Stefani's daring tattoo look from the '90s and Nicki Minaj's see-through skirt from 2018 and the 36th installment of the awards show was no different this year.
With Swift's glitzy multi-colored Versace look to Camilla Cabello's plunging white satin gown headlining the glamorous night, vibrant red-hot and body-hugging suits were some of the top highlights. Lizzo's scarlet Moschino ensemble got many tongues wagging and so did Bebe Rexha's short-sleeve silver Christian Siriano dress with an asymmetrical hemline.
One of the few awards shows to put the spotlight on over-the-top designs and audacious looks, here are the stars at the red carpet who managed to steal all the attention.
Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift stunned onlookers in a colorful sequin-covered jacket minidress from Versace. She paired it with a hot pink top and thigh-high black Christian Louboutin boots. The singer accentuated her look with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry.
Camilla Cabello
Camilla Cabello certainly called all attention to her as she stepped onto the red carpet looking like this. The low cut white gown, almost looking like a low-key wedding dress did enhance her figure at the right places.
Lizzo
Lizzo turned heads in a ravishing red strapless gown printed with the word “Siren”. Moreover, she upped the ante with a red feather boa. The scarlet sequinned gown was further accessorized with a diamond teardrop necklace making her looking all the more like a bombshell from the '60s.
Normani
Normani flirted her way through in a fiery ensemble by Nicolas Jebran at the MTV VMA Awards 2019. She opted for a daring look on the red carpet and the sparkling top and slit skirt turned many heads.
Lenny Kravitz
Playing it cool like always, Kravitz rocked a double-denim look at the MTV VMA Awards 2019. He looked uber cool. He accessorized his look with a pair of sunglasses and a chunky neckpiece.

Halsey wore a sheer red dress by designer Peter Dundas with 3D flower petals going down its length. Cinched with a black leather girdle belt, her outfit was accented it with a black bra and high waist underwear. It was the sheer details that had us.

Keke Palmer looked stunning in a long-sleeve yellow body-hugging sequin gown from Yousef Aljasmi. She paired it with a classic telephone-shaped handbag and platform metallic heels.
Shawn Mendes
Shawn Mendes looked dapper in a dark teal suit worn with over a black thin chiffon shirt and a white tee. The singer accessorized his look with a beaded necklace. His tousled hair just added to the boyish charm.
Alex Morgan
Alex Morgan stepped onto the red carpet in a one-sleeved pink sequin mini dress. Styled by Jasmine Caccamo, the dress complemented her petite frame while the neckline featured a thin choker and a massive ruffle over the arm of her long sleeve.
