MTV VMAs 2020: Best Editing award goes to Miley Cyrus's 'Mother's Daughter', Internet bows to 'the queen'
The MTV Video Music Awards lived up to its hype and gave us a spectacular show which was broadcast from multiple open-air locations. As far as live audiences go, the show had kept its options open, to have either “limited” or “no” audience at the sites where performances took place on Sunday, August 30. The award ceremony was hosted by actress, singer and talk show personality Keke Palmer. Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga led the nominations with nine nominations each — winning Best Collaboration and Song Of The Year for 'Rain On Me'.
The Best Editing award went to Miley Cyrus's ‘Mother's Daughter’ (Editors: Alexandre Moors and Nuno Xico). The song is from her EP 'She Is Coming' and the video features women from different walks of life. From Miley's mom, Tish Cyrus, to rising models and activists — the video featured them all. As reported by Harpers Bazaar, the singer had posted the profiles and powerful messages of her cast on Instagram before the video's release.
Twitter reacted to the news as well. One fan wrote: "The queen is taking home the VMA's for Best Editing and Best Art Direction for Mother's Daugther !!! Congratulations to @MileyCyrus!! @AdamLeber @livrudensky"
