The MTV Video Music Awards left no stone unturned when it came to offering the viewers what they had been eagerly waiting for. Music's biggest event is being held at various locations in New York City today, August 30. The ceremony isn’t taking place under usual circumstances owing to the impact of the novel coronavirus but has ensured that it satisfies music lovers, across the globe by bringing together mind-blowing performances by some of the most amazing music artists.

DaBaby was one among the many stars slated to perform for the event. Marking his first-ever performance at the VMAs. The rapper swept fans off their feet with his brilliant performance to songs 'Peephole', 'Blind' and 'Rockstar', the second single from his 2020 studio album 'Blame it on Baby, which also came across as a pleasant surprise to fans as the channel hadn't disclosed any detail regarding the same. It was the singer's first time on the awards show stage. He also holds three nominations including ‘Artist of the Year’, ‘Best Hip-Hop Video’ and ‘Best Choreography’ for ‘BOP’.

While some fans couldn't stop praising him for kickstarting the most-awaited night with three powerful performances, a few seemed disappointed with his act on the stage referring to police brutality. Soon, Internet users took to Twitter to express their opinion about DaBaby's first-ever VMAs performance, which saw him ride in a police car, pointing at the prevailing police brutality.

One irritated fan called out the singer in their tweet and noted that DaBaby should not have performed around a serious and sensitive issue such as this. The tweet read, "???? why he doing it again. what do his songs have to do police/police brutality? stop taking real issues and trying to use them to go viral, we are so tired of you, dababy."

Adding to the previous tweet another wrote, "Dababy and his performance...imagine how tired we are of the police car..."

Meanwhile, another noted, "DaBaby gave us another police themed performance of the same damn song? *sigh"

The music event will also see performances by BTS, Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande and The Weeknd.
