Johnny Depp fans were enraged after Amber Heard's explosive 'Dateline' interview appeared to be doctored by NBC producers before its full release.

Heard's interview with NBC host Savannah Guthrie aired in full on Friday, June 17. It came after a series of teasers on 'Today' and on Peacock released earlier in the week, which saw Heard, 36, brand Depp, 59, a "liar" and double down on claims that he physically and sexually assaulted her during their relationship. The actress told the network that she has a "binder full of therapist's notes" to prove her accusations against the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' star. She also claimed that the jury was possibly starstruck by her ex-husband, hinting that might be the reason he won the trial.

While speaking to Guthrie last week, Heard appeared to slip up when she included herself and the host in a group that had the "luxury of seeing things in a black and white context" as opposed to real victims of domestic abuse. "As I testified on the stand about this is that when your life is at risk not only will you take the blame for things that you shouldn't take the blame for but when you're in an abusive dynamic psychologically, emotionally, and physically - you don't have the resources that say you or I do with the luxury of saying hey this is black and white," the actress said.

However, producers appeared to release an edited version. "As I testified on the stand about this is that when your life is at risk not only will you take the blame for things that you shouldn't take the blame for but when you're in an abusive dynamic psychologically, emotionally, and physically - you don't have the luxury of saying hey this is black and white," Heard was quoted as saying in the final cut. Viewers were quick to notice the phrase "resources that say you or I do with the" was removed. In the original version, Heard was implying that she and Guthrie were in the same group that could afford to view things in a black and white context.

Social media was inundated with criticisms of NBC, with some saying they will never trust MSM (mainstream media) again.

"So NBC edited Amber Heard's interview to take out a slip-up she had that made her look bad. They cut out the part where she says victims of abuse "don't have the resources that YOU OR I DO", where she is basically excluding HERSELF from that victim group. Why is that NBC?" one asked.

"#AmberHeard's new interview is exactly why the trial needed to be televised live & unedited. The full dateline interview actually edited out the slip up about the resources she has that DV victims don't!" another wrote.

"After this trial, I will never trust MSM again. I actually used to have CNN, BBC, and NBC apps on my phone with notifications on but after seeing how they've twisted themselves into pretzels after this trial to change the narrative, I deleted every single app," a comment read.

"This is why I refuse to trust MSM. I saw the original clip on Wed on @TODAYshow. I also thought Amber’s comment was so strange that she lumped herself with Savannah & then set herself apart from DV victims," someone else added.

"They are on her side, seems they try to make her convincing, it’s a stab in the back for real victims," another offered.

Earlier this month, a Virginia-based jury ruled overwhelmingly in Depp's favor and awarded him more than $10 million in damages after deciding that Heard defamed him in a 2018 Washington Post op-ed about becoming a "public figure representing domestic abuse." While she did not mention Depp in the essay, his lawyers argued that the implications were obvious and damaged their client's career. The seven-member jury also awarded Heard $2 million in damages on one of her three defamation counterclaims.

During her conversation with Guthrie last week, Heard called the trial verdict a "setback" for women, and that she was "scared" that it will mean more "silencing" of survivors hoping to come forward with their allegations. She also said she was hoping her arduous courtroom ordeal would "mean something" to her daughter Oonagh when she grows up. The actress is reportedly planning to appeal the unanimous jury decision.
