GREENVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA: MrBeast has hit back at critics accusing his YouTube friend Chris Tyson of abandoning his two-year-old son after starting Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). Loyal fans of the famous YouTuber may have noticed Tyson going through a major change in appearance in the past months. Addressing the speculations, Tyson, who goes by any pronouns, revealed that he started HRT treatment in February. Since then, the star has faced a ton of anti-trans comments with many critics also targeting his parenting choices.

MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, showed his support for Tyson after Youtuber SunnyV2 made a video titled 'Why Chris Will Soon Be a Nightmare For MrBeast'. Taking the matter to Twitter, Jimmy wrote: "Yeah. this is getting absurd. Chris isn't my "nightmare", he's my f****** friend and things are fine. All this transphobia is starting to p*** me off." The online hate toward Tyson began after he changed his Twitter profile picture from one of him and his son Tucker to a sketch of him with long hair. This led to users calling him out on his choice of starting HRT and ruining his "perfectly healthy nuclear family."

'Selfish fetish fantasy of being a woman'

Reacting to the profile picture change, a Twitter user said: "Chris had a perfectly healthy nuclear family which has been proven to give kids the best outcomes in life, many studies back this up. But Chris chose, the keyword is chosen, to sacrifice that to fulfill his selfish fetish fantasy of being a woman." He further added: "Chris does love his son, I have no doubts. But his selfishness and deviancy took top priority. He even shares pictures of his son in girls' heels. But this isn't grooming, right? He's even pushing his selfish fetish onto his own son."

Tyson changed Twitter profile picture to protect son

The thread continued: "To further my point about @chris, he just changed his alt account @Christhealtgod profile picture to a sketch of himself. It used to be a picture of him and his son. He can’t use a real picture because he knows he looks too masculine." Tyson reasoned that the profile picture change was, in fact, to protect his own son as he wrote, "I just don't want any more photos of Tucker out there than has to be."

Last week, the YouTuber spoke out on the criticism he has been suffering for being a father while living as a gender non-conforming person. "I won't let people talk about how I 'abandoned my child'. He is the only priority in my life. I have his love and support and that is all I need. I'm doing this for him. If that confuses you, educate yourself. It makes you mad. Leave. Simple," he said.

''Just let people make informed decisions about their own bodies'

Despite the continued backlash, Tyson previously expressed that he is "genuinely so glad" his announcement helped educate people about HRT and start conversations. "Informed consent HRT saved my and many others' lives. The hurdles gender non-conforming people have to jump through to get life-saving gender-affirming healthcare in a first-world country is wild to me. 'Just let people make informed decisions about their own bodies,'" he tweeted on April 6.
