'Mount Mila': Ashton Kutcher tried to name South Pole mountain after wife Mila Kunis
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ashton Kutcher revealed he tried to name a mountain on the South Pole after his wife Mila Kunis. In a recent interview, the 45-year-old actor recounted traveling to the South Pole in order to push himself physically to regain his confidence after recovering from an autoimmune disorder. There he met a man who asked him if he was willing to climb a mountain.
While appearing on an episode of CBS's The Late Late Show with James Corden on Monday, February 13, Kutcher recalled: "We climb up this mountain and we get to the top and he said 'You're the first person that has ever climbed this mountain. You get to name it.'" He continued: ''I was like okay really? It's Mount Mila and he says 'No no, it's bad luck to name it after another person.'" Kutcher then settled with the word 'Awesome' but in Russian for the mountain. "So I got to name a mountain while I was there," he said, as per the DailyMail.

Why did Ashton Kutcher travel to South Pole?
While explaining his reason for journeying to the South Pole. Kutcher said: "I had a weird autoimmune disorder three years ago. So last year, I was like I am just going to push myself to the end of my physical capacity in every form. I went to the South Pole, I ran a marathon, and I went Running Wild with Bear Grylls. I was just going to push it as far as I can just to get the self-confidence that I'm fully back, which I am."
The talk show host, 44, then asked Kutcher about a shirtless photo that he took of himself at the South Pole. "It was cold," The 'That 70s Show' alum said. "Someone bet me that I couldn't get naked and curl up on the ground at the South Pole. I was like I'm not going to do that. I'm not going to go that far, but I'll take my shirt off."
Mila Kunis revealed how couple had to 'power through' Kutcher's illness
Kutcher revealed that he suffered from a disorder called vasculitis that caused him to lose his ability to walk as well as his sense of hearing and his vision in a 2022 episode of National Geographic's Running Wild with Bear Grylls: The Challenge. While speaking to Entertainment Tonight in 2022, his wife Kunis opened up about how the couple had to "power through" Kutcher's illness together. "I don't think you have time to sit down and talk, you kinda just power through," she said. "You go and deal with whatever health issue comes your way, but you still got kids, you still got a family, you have to live life. And I think that we are so fortunate to have one another, but as far as sitting there and incessantly talking about things, no. You gotta do."
