'Most amazing person': Meri Brown remembers late mom Bonnie in emotional tribute on her birthday
FLAGSTAFF, ARIZONA: On what would have been Bonnie Ahlstrom's 78th birthday, her daughter Meri Brown marked the occasion by sharing a sweet post on Instagram. Alongside a photo of Bonnie, the 52-year-old 'Sister Wives' star wrote, "Happy Birthday Mom!"
The reality star's mom died in March 2021 at the age of 76. "76 years and 17 days was not enough time for the world to feel the beautiful spirit of this beautiful woman," Brown said at the time, adding that Bonnie's death was "sudden" and "far too soon." At the time of her mother's tragic death, Brown's entire life was in upheaval, as Christine had decided to separate from Kody Brown and she felt that Kody was trying to push her away from the family, she felt "lost." Brown continues to hold her mother in her memories.

Brown keeps her mothers memory alive by sharing on social media how much she meant to the 'Sister Wives' star. She explained how her mother was, "the most amazing, loving, kind, giving, selfless, Christ-centered, person I had the pleasure of knowing in this lifetime. I miss talking to her, learning from her, and being inspired by her wisdom." The reality star concluded her message by adding that she will always be missed.
The 'unexpected' death of Meri Brown's mother
Bonnie, Meri's mother, died March 26, 2021, at age 76, after falling ill a week earlier. Brown and the rest of the family were shocked by her sudden passing. On the September 25 episode of 'Sister Wives,' Brown learned of her mother's death while she was on her way to see her. In a 'Sister Wives' episode that aired in September 2022, Bonnie's death was discussed in detail. Brown said she remembers the day of her death "very clearly and in great detail," describing, "Being alone in my car and on the way to her praying I would get there before it was too late was hard enough as it was, but then to get the call that she had passed was truly heartbreaking."
She also revealed that her mother's passing was "very sudden and unexpected," as she otherwise appeared to be in good health. The news took everyone by surprise, including Robyn, Janelle and Christine. Brown added that Bonnie "was so happy living out her final years at our B&B in Utah," known as Lizzie's Heritage Inn.
