UTAH, UNITED STATES: Christine Brown announced her split with Kody Brown and his polygamy lifestyle on November 18, 2021. Christine's aunt Kristyn Decker now claims to be "happy" with Christine's decision and said, "I'm so glad she's out of there." Kristyn agrees with Gwendlyn's opinion that Kody was "forcing himself to believe" in polygamy.

When asked whether Kristyn believed in Christine's daughter's claim that her dad was "forcing" himself to believe in polygamy, Kristyn replied, "I think that's how it is with most of the men. I really, really do, is they believed that they have to." "I saw that in several of my brothers," added Christine's aunt in InTouch Weekly's interview.

Kristyn claimed that her brothers were not successful. And, it was "heartbreaking" for her to not see them succeed in polygamy. She says, "So, I guess to a great degree, maybe Kody really is feeling like a failure," hinting toward the hardship of making many women happy at the same time in a polyamorous marriage. Kristyn claimed, "It's almost impossible. And men, It's really tough for them." She further connected Kody's life situation by giving an example of her brother.

Kristyn said that her brother was "devastated" to make three women happy in the marriage. Christine's aunt spoke about her brother's failure, "He loved them (wives), and tried to make them happy and he tried to support the family and he felt like a failure all the time." But, her brother didn't give up on polygamy because he "believed he had to do it" like many others. Kristyn connected with Christine in many ways as both came out of the polyamorous marriage at the same age and figured out by themselves that it was not something they were meant for. Christine's aunt further called polygamy "coercive" and explained why many women leave it in similar stages of life. She says that watching kids suffer and seeing the patriarch of the family not give enough time and attention is what clicks the women and makes them take the decision to come out of polygamy.

Kristyn runs a non-profit organization 'Second Chances Coalition.' Her organization helps polygamy victims to get out of a society that is not beneficial for them. Kristyn has also embarked on knowledge on polygamy through her book 'Fifty Years in Polygamy: Big Secrets and White Lies.' A few days before Kristyn's interview Gwen opened up in a TikTok Live about her father and the polygamy he believes in. All About Tea reports that when asked by a fan whether Kody is "as abusive in real life as he is on (the show), Gwen replied, "It's about the same." The 21-year-old added, "He’s gotten a lot better since then, like, he’s really healing." She further explained how the "strain of having so many wines" and "forcing himself to believe" in polygamy made him an "upset and unhappy person."
