Spoiler alert for 'Mortel' Episode 6

The masked murderer was in for a big surprise as Obé saves Sofiane's life and surrenders himself to the killer. Astounded by the gesture, the killer gets deceived by Obe's act and unfortunately for him, there is no transfer of power. Obé could really be dead by now. Living in the mortal world has been killing him slowly as he is burning from the inside, quite literally.

Meanwhile, Victor is at the hospital with Laurine and Audrey (the school headmistress). Now, Laurine is the first victim of all the evil deeds. Upon revealing that Reda had drugged her and she becomes fully aware that she was a vessel of communication between the mortals and the dead. Terrified to find the perpetrator in her own house, she plunged to death from her window. She knows the killer, but currently, she is in a coma.

This makes Laurine a very significant character in this episode. She is the missing piece of this murderous puzzle. An untold secret from her memory has to be exposed and to get to it, Victor uses his superpowers to get to the truth. We see a blue-ish tinted memory, we see Laurine scream the name of the murderer and we are as mortified to find out that it was 'Hervé' who had been on the spree. Now that blue memory represents a cold and unpleasant past, which is of significance because Laurine literally tried to kill herself. The visual tone of Victor's powers is very perceptive. Since he is only able to see dark secrets and memories of people, the memories appear dark, blue and shades of grey.

Sofiane is possessed by Obé (Netflix Trailer)

As the trio — Sofiane, Victor and Luisa — are en route for the big show-down with Hervé, Sofiane begins to grow weak as a part of him is dying due to excessive use of his powers. Luisa plans a perfect end game for the killer and Obé because he is still lurking around in the mortal world. Using her Voodoo abilities, Luisa condemns Obé from the mortal world and banishes him to the place he came from.

It was a kind of liberation for him since he had nothing else left to do. Although he was pure evil, he also started developing a few human qualities. Well, that's one lesson he's not going to forget. Hervé, on the other hand, gets served royally as Victor unleashes his power in full force and Luisa pushes throws him out the window.  But we still don't know what he intended to do with Obé's powers because being 'Obé' has no perks at all!

Towards the end, normalcy is restored and Sofiane and Victor still retain their powers. Victor is still traumatized by the events and decides to return to the hospital to heal his depression. A beautiful twist leads Sofiane to see the dead come back to life as Reda finds his way home.

As for Luisa, she keeps hearing about 'The Descéndants' and how she has to protect the boys forever. She will also be the next Mambo, replacing her grandmother. She has a long way to go and learn all the tricks and spells of Voodoo. The danger may not have passed as the arrival of 'The Descéndants' is yet to happen. Be assured, they are coming, and they will be coming with a bang!

The arrival of these guys and the exponential growth in the character arch of the trio gives us a strong reason to believe that there will be a Season 2 in the future.
