The long-awaited ‘Modern Family’ Season 11 finale which aired tonight marked the end of an era on television, leavening a bunch of highly saddened and yet somewhat satisfied fans.

After entertaining us for eleven seasons with endless love and laughter, the finale saw the beloved Pritchett-Dunphy-Tucker families walk their own paths.

The dedicated fans, after watching the final episodes, have showered their favorite series with numerous emotional tweets, as they thank the creators and actors for bringing joy into their lives and the finale for lighting them up during the dark time that's come due to the pandemic.

However, a lot of them aren’t able to accept the fact that they won’t be getting to see any more of ‘Modern Family’ episodes going forward and it seems to sting them immensely as the grew up with the decade-long show.

Thanking the series for serving up entertainment that was rejoiced by every member of the family, one fan wrote, “So many nights my parents & I sat down after our hardest days as a family & as human beings to watch #ModernFamily before bed so we could end on a good note.”

“Thank you #Modern family for 11 great years, 250 solid episodes. One of the best casts ever assembled for a TV show, and they were gifted with great writing. I'll miss you all,” noted another.

Although as a sitcom it offered lighthearted entertainment, the series touched upon several socially relevant issues. Reflecting on this one fan noted, “Modern Family really broke sp many barriers”.

And, a few of the viewers have observed how ‘Modern Family’ had become a prominent part of their day-to-day life, for it always ensured to cheer them up. “it really has been such an important show in my life,” wrote an emotional fan.

Meanwhile, a few have asked the network to telecast the reruns of their favorite show, so it wouldn’t hurt as much.

“I'm gonna miss this show. It was one of my favorites to watch, although I guess reruns will make the ending sting less. #ModernFamily” said one fan.

Another fan added to the previous tweet saying, “I was 12 years old when #ModernFamily first aired (September 23rd, 2009). I'm 23 now and it has been the only show where I've enjoyed every single episode. I'm gonna miss this great comedy. Keep the porch light on.”
