'We're all reeling': Michael Lockwood mourns ex Lisa Marie Presley's death, lauds daughters' 'incredible spirit'
CALABASAS, CALIFORNIA: Nearly a week has passed since the death of Lisa Marie Presley, who lost her life on January 12 because of a cardiac arrest. Now, her former husband, who is also a guitarist, Michael Lockwood, has opened up about his feelings following the unfortunate incident.
Lockwood is the father of twin daughters — Finley Aaron Love Lockwood and Harper Vivienne Ann Lockwood — whom he shared with the singer. In a statement to People, the 61-year-old said, “We are all reeling from the sudden passing of Lisa Marie Presley, the mother of my two beautiful twin daughters Harper and Finley. Nothing prepares us for such an unexpected tragedy. It is incomprehensible.”

Michael also mentioned his children before adding, “The most important thing to me at this time is to take care of my daughters, making sure they always feel safe and loved. Both of them have incredible spirit and they will carry our family's legacy on for the rest of their lives. Since they were born, Harper and Finley have brought me profound joy and I remain devoted to them. We ask for privacy at this incredibly difficult time.”
Lisa fourth husband’s statement came after her mother Priscilla Presley issued a heartbreaking note that read, “It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us. She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment.”
Soon after the musician’s death news came out, tributes began to come in from the likes of Leah Remini, Dolly Parton, John Travolta, and several more. Remini tweeted, “I’m heartbroken over the passing of Lisa Marie Presley. Lisa did not have an easy life, as some might think. May she be at peace, resting with her son and father now. Her mom Priscilla and her three daughters, Riley, Finley, and Harper, are in my prayers.” Parton shared on Instagram, “Priscilla, I know how sad you must be. May God comfort you at this time. Elvis, I know how happy you must be to finally have her home and to have her back with you. Lise Marie, may you rest in peace. We all love all of you.”

Funny as shit, smart as a whip, sensitive, talented, witty, mean, loving, generous, judgmental but always right, loyal, and you adored your children. My heart breaks for you and your beautiful family and your children. The world lost a rare gem today. May your soul rest in peace, friend.” Travolta added, “Lisa baby girl, I'm so sorry. I'll miss you but I know I'll see you again. My love and heart goes out to Riley, Priscilla, Harper, and Finley.”
