Michael B Jordan hilariously fires back at ex-classmate and TV host Lore'l after she called him ‘corny’
ATLANTA, GEORGIA: Michael B Jordan took a stand for his teen self while attending a fan screening of his movie ‘Creed III’ in Atlanta, Georgia. ‘The Morning Hustle’ host Lore'l approached the 'Black Panther' star for an interview as he walked the red carpet. As per reports, the two were students at Chad Science Academy in Newark, New Jersey when they were teenagers.
“Oh yeah, I was the corny kid, right? I heard it,” Jordan remarked, apparently referring to a statement Lore'l made on an episode of ‘The Undressing Room’ podcast in 2021 with hosts Eva Marcille and Dominique da Diva. “To be honest with you, we teased him all the damn time because his name was Michael Jordan. Let’s start there, and he was no Michael Jordan,” she reportedly shared at the time.

‘We would make fun of him'
She had also said, “And he also would come to school with a headshot. We lived in Newark, that’s the hood. We would make fun of him like, ‘What you gonna do with your stupid headshot!?’ And now look at him.”
The alleged mocking of Jordan did not end there as she also went on to discuss his relationship with his ex-girlfriend Lori Harvey, describing him as a “nice, corny guy.” However, when she had a face-off with the 36-year-old actor during the premiere, she defended herself, saying, “I said we used to make fun of the name. But yeah, well, you’re not corny anymore.”
‘Class personified’
The interaction between Jordan and Lore'l has gone viral on the internet with many people supporting the ‘That Awkward Moment’ star. A user tweeted, “Mad respect to him. He called her out on it and still did a decent interview. Class personified. Good men are good men regardless. If he wouldve just walked away or been mean about it, females on here wouldve called him effeminate, emotional, blah blah blah.” Another user wrote, “Michael B. Jordan didn't hold back😂😂.” A third commented, “Success is the best revenge.”

A fourth shared, “I love it, she probably done told 100 friends they cool and went to school together. Now they see this video and now she’s corny.” “You’ll always have the last laugh when you put the work in. When you don’t focus on the naysayers. When you’re locked into your grind and your purpose. Keep going, keep believing in yourself, this should motivate a lot of young men, and women too. Anyone who’s experienced hate,” a tweet added.

‘I had a lot to say as a young man'
Meanwhile, Jordan has stepped into directorial shoes with 'Creed III'. In October last year, he shared, “I finally got to this place in my career where I really wanted to tell a story, you know, and not just be in front of the camera, not just execute somebody else's vision. And having a character that I've played twice before, you know it's been 7, 8 years living with this guy, so to be able to tell a story of where I believe Adonis is at,” as reported by PEOPLE.
“Also, at 35 years old, I had a lot to say as a young man, as a young Black man, just my life experiences and how I could actually share that, share a piece of myself with the world through these characters and through this story,” Jordan added.
