Melanie Griffith looks radiant in a turtleneck in LA months after fans spotted a scar on her face
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Monday, March 20, was a shopping day for veteran actress Melanie Griffith as she was seen in Beverly Hills looking for a perfect pair of shoes. The 65-year-old looked chic and smart in a black turtleneck sweater, denim jeans and black platform oxfords.
The ‘Double Body’ star kept her hair casual in a loose updo while opting for minimal makeup that included brick-colored lipstick. Griffith completed her look by adding a black pair of sunglasses and a leather shoulder bag. This outing comes months after she was spotted with a scar on her face.

‘Bandaged again’
Though at the time, she did not address the spot, in 2018, she revealed her struggles with skin cancer. In an Instagram share, she stated, “Bandaged again after having dermabrasion, the final step to fix the now removed basil cell skin cancer. If any of you have it, get it fixed. If you lay in the sun, are exposed to lots of sun, be CAREFUL. Use sun screen. Get checked out by your Dermatolgist. If you don’t have one, get one, or go to your nearest clinic and ask to be tested for it. More info to come!”
In the same year, Griffith shared, as reported by PEOPLE, “It’s a scary thing when you’re an actress and you depend on your face for work. But I realize I have to put a Band-Aid on it, and it’s fine. I just look like a dork.”
Addressing ageism in the entertainment industry, the ‘Lolita’ actress said, “I think that theater is kinder on a 60-year-old face. It’s a different deal when you’re older. And we’re old. I don’t mean it badly, and I don’t mean it like, ‘Oh, poor me,’ or anything like that. It’s just a different deal when you’re an older person. It’s different from being the hot stuff to being the old hot stuff.”
‘Celebrating Academy Award winning’
Griffith has not appeared in any movies in the recent past but she knows how to celebrate big wins. When Jamie Lee Curtis won the Oscar for the Best Supporting Actress at the 95th Academy Awards, Griffith was cheering her on.
Taking to Instagram, she posted a photo with Curtis and wrote, “Celebrating Academy Award winning @jamieleecurtis !! That will be her moniker from now on! Along with… actress, author, producer, director, philanthropist, mother, daughter, wife, girlfriend, sober sister, friend, listener, participant, voice, business woman, bad ass, loving, understanding, wickedly wonderful sense of humor and humble. Yes, I know, I definitely have a 40 Year girlfriend crush on Ms. Curtis!! She truly is all heart.”
A user commented, “LOVE to see a woman celebrating a woman’s triumph We all win.” Another one shared, “Melanie you are all of these adjectives too!” “Melanie, as I watched her win my thoughts were of you, knowing how elated you were for your very best girlfriend,” the third user added.
