How was Melania Trump's 2021? Former first lady kept away from the spotlight
Early in January 2021, Melania Trump stepped off Air Force One in dark sunglasses and a bright printed Gucci dress. However, on arrival at the Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida, former first lady Melania Trump refused to be photographed by the paparazzi. Folks took it as a sign that Melania was eager to leave the public limelight for good. Melania was spotted walking away from photographers as former President Donald Trump stopped to pose for pictures. She has been pretty staunch on her decision and has kept herself away from the public spotlight since then.
Why she chose that
Melania has always made it clear that she is not a fan of so much public attention and spotlight. The former model was always vocal about how too much of being in the public gaze always made her uncomfortable and how she would always take time away from paparazzi and media.

During Trump's one-term presidency in 2017, Melania had been staying with her 15-year-old son Barron in New York for several months. She always made it clear that she did not want people and attention around herself all the time and has made several decisions in the past that make her point pretty clear.
First Public Appearance
Melania's first public appearance of 2021 was in February at Mar-a-Lago where she posed for a photo with an eager fan. She graced herself in a pretty black Dolce and Gabbana dress adorned with daisies. She looked happy and seemed to be enjoying her day. This was a welcome change from the last time she had appeared in public where she looked like she was rather irritated and eager to leave.
Some Jealousy?
It was also alleged that Melania had purportedly gotten jealous of the kind of positive attention that was being given to President Joe Biden's wife Jill. However, this piece of news was more of a blind speculation manufactured from mostly guesswork and was not confirmed from any public comments by Melania or her family members.
Normalizing it slowly
Around April 2021, Melania seemed to have gotten a good hang of the changes in her life and seemed to be getting used to it slowly. She was spotted attending a high-profile fundraiser at Mar-a-Lago. She was seen in a Giambattista Vali bodycon dress in white.
Only a few days later, she posted a tweet addressing the royal family of England. "President Trump and I extend our deepest condolences to Her Majesty the Queen, the Royal Family, and the people of Great Britain as the world mourns the loss of Prince Philip," the tweet read.

A little later on April 14, she was spotted enjoying a nice dinner with her husband at a private roped-off table at Mar-a-Lago. On April 26, which was also Melania's 51st birthday, she seemed to have had a quiet celebration and didn't make her itinerary or any information about that day public. She did however tweet a "Thank you to everyone for the wonderful birthday wishes!" the day after her birthday.
Where is Melania?
Melania seemed to be absent from her husband's 75th birthday in June which refueled divorce rumors about the couple that had earlier sparked up on the internet. After they were spotted having a cozy dinner back in April, the rumors had been put to rest but popped up again on Trump's birthday. Melania was spotted leaving Trump Tower with her son Barron who is a surprising 6ft 7inches tall now.
Reappearing
After weeks of silence following Trump's birthday, Melania reappeared again in October to get back at Michael Beschloss after he said something mean about her designs of the White House Rose Garden. A long period of silence followed, broken by the Trumps appearance at a baseball match for the World Series.
Here, Melania seemed to be barely trying to keep rumors of a failing marriage in check after she was spotted sporting a scowl on her face as she turned away from her husband.
Ending the year on a sweet note
As 2021 comes to an end, Melania seems to have pretty much reached a normal stage in life and is used to her new lifestyle which was purportedly annoying her at the beginning of 2021. She shared a few posts with Richard Grenell, former acting director of the United States National Intelligence on her Instagram in early November. Mid November, Melania announced on social media that she had received an award by a Republican Party organization which advocates for equal rights for LGBTQ+ Americans. She also made a tweet honouring American troops around the same time.
As is clearly visible, very little is known about Melania's life and happenings in 2021. From what we know, Melania is planning on holding an auction for digital and physical arts in January 2022. From the looks of it, she looks more comfortable now with the public gaze compared to how she had been taking it through the rest of the year. The best guess is that we might have more to say about her at the end of 2022.
