Meghan Markle 'hated every minute' of new documentary on father Thomas: 'She's angrier than ever'
Meghan Markle must have watched her estranged father's new tell-all documentary and "hated every minute of it," a royal expert has claimed.
Thomas Markle, who fell out spectacularly with his daughter in the lead up to her royal wedding to Prince Harry in April 2018, hit headlines this week after turning out for a 90-minute film for Channel 5 titled 'Thomas Markle: My Story'.
In the documentary, Thomas accuses Harry and Meghan of saying "trashy things" about him and states he does not feel bad for taking money to speak about their relationship because they "owe" him at this point.
He also goes on to suggest that meeting Harry and marrying into the royal family had changed his daughter and he had given up hope of them reconciling, adding that he didn't think she would see him again until he is "lowered into the ground" in a coffin.
Phil Dampier, the author of 'Royally Suited, Harry and Meghan In Their Own Words', told the Daily Mail that the documentary was a "watershed moment" for the senior Markle as it confirmed he genuinely believed he would never see his daughter again.
"Meghan will probably be angrier than ever at him for sharing intimate family videos, but he was proving how close they once were," he said.
Indeed, Thomas shared unseen photos of Meghan in the documentary, including those of her birth, with mother Doria Ragland at Christmas parties and summer picnics near their California home, and of her riding a horse and fishing.
He also shared video footage of Meghan's first school productions where he claims the star in her was born, her high school graduation, leaving college, as well as family photos taken after she won her first Hollywood roles and her breakthrough on legal drama 'Suits.'
"Thomas probably now thinks he has nothing to lose by talking to the press so he may as well make money out of it," Dampier theorized, "Some will criticize him for that but he has almost reached a point of no return where he feels he will never see his daughter or grandson anyway."
Meghan Markle is said to have decided to break off all ties with her father to "protect herself, her husband, and her son," with a source stating that it was a "heartbreaking" and "terribly sad situation" for the 38-year-old.
Richard Fitzwilliams, another royal commentator and former editor of International Who's Who, said any slim chance of reconciliation had evaporated with the recent documentary. "The sky is more likely to fall than Meghan reconciling with her father," he said. "I cannot imagine that Meghan wouldn’t have watched it – and she would have hated every minute of it."
