Meghan Markle refuses to let father Thomas meet baby Archie even though he's desperate to meet his grandson: 'It's to protect her family'
Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle will never allow her father Thomas Markle to meet her son Archie, reports have revealed.
Meghan Markle will reportedly remain distant from her father Thomas Markle, 75, to 'protect herself, her husband, and her son.' Thomas Markle had spoken to DailyMail recently and revealed that he was hoping that becoming a mother would "mellow" Meghan. He also expected that she and Prince Harry would reach out to him after 'ghosting' him around 16 months ago.
According to royal insiders, the Sussex parents have no intention of allowing baby Archie to meet his grandfather as Meghan made the "heartbreaking" decision that she wanted nothing more to do with him. As reported by The Sun, a source shared, "It's a terribly sad situation but Meghan has made the very difficult decision that she doesn't have an active relationship with her father anymore."
The source further added that this was a decision that she had made a while ago to 'protect herself, her husband and her son.' Thomas has also never met his son-in-law Prince Harry who had called him on the phone to ask for Meghan's hand in marriage. Thomas Markle's fallout with his daughter and her new family started when he secretly began to collaborate with a British paparazzi photographer to stage a series of pictures.
When Meghan got married to Prince Harry in May 2018, it was Harry's father, Prince Charles, who gave Meghan away instead of Thomas. Thomas Markle had recently shared, "No father deserves this kind of abuse when he's been that good to his daughter. Ask anyone who knows us both. I've been very kind and generous to my daughter. Everyone raves about how gracious and wonderful they are, but they are not wonderful to their own family. That's hypocritical."
He also shared that he would love for the couple to send him a picture of baby Archie so that he can frame it and hang it up on his wall. "Isn't that what any grandfather would want? I'd love to know if he's got the famous Markle nose," he shared. Thomas had also said that he is tired of waiting for Meghan and Prince Harry to forgive him.
