LONDON, UK: Meghan Markle's mouthpiece Omid Scobie recently denied that the duchess said Harry told her he had "lost" his father Charles over Megxit. Scobie said she was actually referring to her own father and not Harry's. In an interview with the The Cut, Meghan has yet again launched fresh attacks on the royals, Britain and the press. In the interview, she discussed Harry's relationship with Prince Charles during the fallout from their Oprah interview.

According to writer Alison P Davies, "Meghan grew up very close to her father, Thomas, a retired lighting director who gave Meghan her Hollywood bug, but she has been estranged from him basically since the wedding. (He was not in attendance.) And every miserable fissure in their former bond has been publicized, often by him. After the wedding, The Mail on Sunday leaked a heartfelt letter Meghan wrote to her father begging him to stop speaking to reporters. Meghan sued for invasion of privacy and won, though the defense mounted against her painted her as calculating and manipulative. When I ask about it, Meghan doesn’t stay in her sadness for long; instead, she uses it to discuss how toxic tabloid culture has torn two families apart. 'Harry said to me, ‘I lost my dad in this process.'' It doesn’t have to be the same for them as it was for me, but that’s his decision.”

While initial reports claimed Meghan was talking about Harry's relationship with Charles, Scobie took to Twitter to clarify that she was actually referring to her estranged father, Thomas. "There seems to be confusion in some headlines about this quote in The Cut interview. I understand that Prince Harry is actually referring to Meghan's loss of her own father, and Meghan is saying she doesn't want Harry to lose his," Scobie wrote on Twitter.

Meanwhile, amid confusion over Meghan's comments on Charles, a source close to Prince Charles said he would be saddened if Harry felt their relationship was lost. "The Prince of Wales loves both his sons," the source said, according to the Daily Mail

Among several other bombshell claims that Meghan made in the interview, she insisted that what she and Harry asked for during Megxit negotiations was not "reinventing the wheel". She stressed the fact that other senior royals had been granted such arrangements in the past. The article also said that Harry suggested some members of the Royal Family "aren't able to work and live together" and also referred to his wife as a "model and a mom". Meghan also claimed that a South African member of the cast of the West End production of 'The Lion King' told her, "When you married into this family, we rejoiced in the streets the same we did when Mandela was freed from prison."
