Many claimed that Meghan was lying and it was her jealousy that made her accuse Kate of making her cry before her royal wedding

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's interview with Oprah Winfrey has raised many questions, one of which is about the relationship between the Duchess of Sussex and Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge. In the tell-all interview, among other things, Markle said that her sister-in-law made her cry prior to her royal wedding.

After Winfrey asked Meghan about tabloids reporting that she had made Kate cry days before marrying Prince Harry, Meghan answered, "No, the reverse happened."

“A few days before the wedding, she was upset about something, pertaining, yes, the issue was correct about flower girl dresses, and it made me cry, and it really hurt my feelings, and I thought in the context of everything else that was going on in those days leading to the wedding, it didn't make sense to not be just doing whatever everyone else is doing, which was trying to be supportive knowing what was going on with my dad and whatnot.” Markle said. She added, however, that she didn't want "to be disparaging to anyone," but simply wanted to clear the air. 

She said, "It was a really hard week of the wedding, and she was upset about something. But she owned it, and she apologized, and she brought me flowers and a note apologizing. She did what I would do if I knew that I hurt someone, to just take accountability for it."

Markle further said that she was “blamed for something I didn't do, but happened to me,” and that “Everyone in the institution knew it wasn't true.” When Winfrey asked why nobody spoke out to clarify the story, Markle said, “That's a good question.” 

Markle said, "I think it's really important for people to understand the truth. But also I think a lot of it that was fed into by the media -- and, look, I would hope that she would have wanted that corrected, and maybe in the same way that the palace wouldn't let anybody else negate it, they wouldn't let her, because she's a good person. I think so much of what I have seen play out is this idea of polarity, where if you love me, you don't have to hate her. If you love her, you don't need to hate me."

On social media, however, many seemed unwilling to believe this. In fact, many claimed that it was Markle who was jealous of Middleton, which is what led to the accusations. There is, of course, nothing that substantiates these claims. Nonetheless, people said, “Basically Harry's whipped by a narcissistic social media influencer and Meghan was just mad that she married into royalty and wasn't made a Princess. She's jealous of Kate. Meghan is the epitome of woke and nasty women who try and hide it.”

“Both Meghan and Harry knew there were rules of the monarchy, so she wanted to change the institution. She’s didn’t succeed. She is jealous of Kate,” claimed one Twitter user. Another said, “Meghan is so obviously jealous of Kate! She wanted to be centre stage, future Queen etc. Kate is the epitome of class and dignity, and Meghan is a selfish, narcissistic diva, who has had to make lies to get her headlines.”
