Meghan Markle's estranged sister, Samantha Markle is accusing her of "negligence" and "elder abuse" for not making efforts to contact their father, Thomas Markle, despite him being rushed for emergency treatment after suffering a stroke.

The 57-year-old has accused her 40-year-old sister of failing to contact her or the family since the news of Thomas's ill health broke earlier this week. "My father has a huge heart and even though he was not in the wrong, although I have seen trolls out there and people on social media saying, 'Oh well, he was bashing her in public.' No, he was defending himself, and he was speaking truthfully while still always reaching out to her," Samantha said in an interview with GB News.

Thomas Markle fears the worst with daughter Meghan Markle: "I think that relationship is lost now"

"He wasn't bashing her. The public didn't know he was responding to a media agenda. He was responding to paid PR that made him look awful. Even though she didn't publicly speak out against him, neither did she advocate publicly for him, knowing that he was being tortured in the media. So, when he was speaking out and he had a right to defend himself and set the record straight, that is not bashing," Samantha added.

"Through all of that, and feeling like he was unjustly defending himself because he didn't do anything wrong. She, I believe, had a moral obligation, in my opinion, to step forward at any time. Two heart attacks, there were no staged photos, there was no scandal. That was a setup, that was a lie. Never did she step forward and say 'God, please respect my father. He has done nothing wrong, we'll work this out,'" she continued.

Samantha added, "Never did she contact him to work it out. Never did she make a public statement or contact him privately to make amends as a humanitarian and as his daughter that he loves so much and gave the world to. I mean, everything that she has now would not exist without my father. God, if two heart attacks, a pandemic, and a stroke don't speak to her, then it's between her and God now. There is no other way."

"If she can't find it in her heart and doesn't have the moral conscience to reach back to him while his life hangs in a balance and he's reaching out to her, then there is no point. And then shame on her, in my opinion. And she is gotta live with that and if she can do that, well then, she can take that to her grave. That's a choice she has to make. She doesn't have a lot of time to fix this and it is her moral obligation to fix this," she explained.

"The bigger picture is that her disregard, in my opinion, never reaching out, never advocating for him. Through two heart attacks, through a pandemic, knowing that he was trapped in the house because of media pressure. And during the pandemic, everybody was more sedentary and reclusive and not going out. So, all things taken together really took a toll on his health and she had to foresee that this wouldn't be good for him. So, I feel there is a negligence, in my opinion, elder abuse because she had to see what's happening," Samantha continued.

"There is no excuse for the disregard, there is no excuse for the callous observation of everything that he was going through. She saw what was happening in the media, so I don't understand how she could just do nothing, watching it all," she said. 77-year-old Thomas is a retired lighting director who lost his speech a week before he'd been due to fly to London for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations. He was taken by ambulance across the border to the US at around 9:30 pm on Monday, reports Daily Mail.

"He's doing better, he's in good spirits and it still hurts me to talk about it because he's been through so much. Two heart attacks, a pandemic, and a stroke. I don't think he saw it coming, I'm just so thankful to God that I called him when I did because he was slurring his speech, he couldn't talk and I feel like If we hadn't got emergency care right away it could've been fatal," Samantha told GB News.
