The star cast of the award-winning movie ‘Encanto’ landed on the stage of Oscars 2022 to perform the original track 'We Don't Talk About Bruno' in its first-ever life performance but soon got overshadowed by guest stars namely Becky G, and Luis Fonsi. And, if this was not enough rapper Megan Thee Stallion left the audience amused with her surprise appearance. She soon got trolled for giving a little twist to the original lyrics.

Social media users were not elated with the surprise guest appearance by Megan as they felt she along with Becky and Luis ruined the entire song adding that it was highly unnecessary when Megan added the word Oscars in the lyrics. ‘Encanto’ voice actors including Stephanie Beatriz, Mauro Castillo, Carolina Gaitan, Adassa, and Diane Guerrero were spotted on the stage of Academy Awards but soon got out of the spotlight after Megan, Becky, and Louis took over the stage.

Adding her own verse, Megan on stage rapped about the three funny women hosting Amy Schumer, Wanda Sykes, and Regina Hall, as well as Zendaya. She in the lyrics declared that she was ready for a statue of her own spitting, “Believe I’m up next/ I’m coming for that gold/ You can add it to my shelf/ Academy Award.” Becky G and Luis Fonsi too altered the lyrics and eventually, everyone joined them in singing, “We’re here to celebrate Oscar,” in place of the song’s title.

The 94th edition of the Academy Awards is currently being held at Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California on Sunday, March 27. Comedians Regina Hall, Amy Schumer and Wanda Sykes took over the hosting duties for the coveted award show. Awards in different categories such as film-making, acting, screenplay, costume design, music and others were given away at the prestigious ceremony.

‘They ruined the original song’

Social media flocked to Twitter to slam Megan Thee Stallion for giving it a spin to the original track. “What the f**k was this? Why y’all just couldn’t sing We Don’t Talk About Bruno the correct way?”, said one user as another posted, “They ruined the original song, they even put the encantó cast behind these people.” One person added, “Not sure what that was, but it sure wasn't "We Don't Talk About Bruno." One person asserted, “I’m sorry but it was unnecessary.” The next one tweeted, “DID MEGAN THEE STALLION JUST COME ON STAGE AND REMIX WE DONT TALK ABOUT BRUNO.” One shared, “Song was cool, but uhm, what’s the purpose of having the original cast there if they’re going to put people that had nothing to do with the movie?” Meanwhile, one stated, “Highly unnecessary, they just took away the moment from the Encanto Cast.” And, another concluded, “She had nothing to do in that song. You can't understand how disappointed we were to see her in the performance.”
