'WAP': Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B tease big news, fans suspect duo might release an 'animated music video'

The two shared mysterious updates on upcoming 'big news' and an announcement and fans have a variety of theories about what the two artists might be cooking up

Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B are all ready to set fire to the charts with their upcoming single, 'WAP', which drops this Friday, August 7. But in the leadup to the song's release, both artists have teased some big announcements and fans can't help but wonder if there's more to their single's release than the girls have been letting on.

Stallion first shared a story that featured some aesthetic shots of the artist putting on some lip gloss with the words "Big news coming soon" beneath. Hawk-eyed fans were, of course, quick to link the story to another post shared by the makeup brand Revlon several hours prior, which featured a mystery celebrity putting on some shiny silver eyeshadow. The brand captioned it, "We have some *hot* news, but we aren’t sharing just yet. You’ll have to wait until tomorrow! Until then, any guesses?!"

Responses were swift, confidently declaring, "I'd recognize Meg the Stallion's eyelids anywhere" as well as, "I know a Megan Thee Stallion cut crease when I see it!" But some fans couldn't help but laugh at Revlon's attempt at keeping their announcement a mystery, sharing an image of Stallion with a black line covering her eyes and stating, "This how this ad looks."

Jokes aside, the announcement appears to indicate Stallion and Revlon might be teaming up for a project, the official announcement for which will likely drop on August 7, meaning Stallion is about to have one hell of a weekend celebration. And seeing as fans are already gearing up to buy whatever it is Stallion and Revlon put out, tweeting "I know that’s not Megan thee mfkin STALLION?! Somebody pass me my purse," it's evident the collab will be a hit.

However, Cardi B soon shared a teaser of her own. Along with an image of her in a Kim Shui halter brocade dress, the rapper shared, "I’m makin a announcement early tomorrow," adding, "I have a really bad headache now so imma be off this." Fans were soon in the comments asking, "WHATS THE TEA!!!?" Influencer Jessenia Gallegos asked, "Another announcement?!?" before adding, "WOW! We excited!" Cardi fans are evidently excited that the rapper is giving them a slew of new projects, with one fan commenting, "OMG WHAT MORE COULD YOU BLESS US WITH," and another responding, "We eating sis."

Some are expecting the announcement to be that Cardi is dropping more new music in addition to 'WAP'. "It’s almost time for the queen to return," declared Flawless Real Talk under the post, while another comment read, "New album??" Others, however, thought it might instead be referring to a music video. One person asked fellow Bardigang members, "Who is interested in an animated music video?" It certainly would be an absolute treat to get a Stallion and Cardi music video, even if it features animation and not the two artists slaying together in person.

Other Cardi fans had an entirely different theory, however: they think she might be pregnant. "I feel like it's Kulture no. 2 on the way," commented one user, hinting that Cardi's 2-year-old daughter might have a baby sibling soon. The rapper has provided no indication that she was expecting another child, but fans, evidently, think it might be her big announcement.
