Mariah Carey 'The Rarities': Release date, concept, tracklist and all the hype around her eighth compilation album

Mariah Carey has been enthralling her fans since 1989 and in her 31 years of music career, the American singer-songwriter has collected an extensive list of rare and unreleased songs. Thanks to her compilation albums, she has made those songs available to her fans worldwide. Now, in a piece of good news, Mariah is all set to drop her eighth compilation album titled ‘The Rarities'.

The 50-year-old record producer had first announced her new compilation album on September 10 via her official Twitter account along with the cover art. She had tweeted, "THE RARITIES Revealed Eyes Out October 2nd http://mariahcareyshop.com."



 

‘The Rarities’ is a follow-up of the ‘Fantasy’ hitmaker’s seventh compilation album titled ‘Japan Best’ which was released in 2018.

Release date

Mariah's 'The Rarities' will hit the internet on October 2, 2020, via Columbia and Legacy Records. Also, we must tell you that before her album drops, the singer is also releasing her memoir titled ‘The Meaning of Mariah Carey’ on September 29, 2020. The new project is part of "#MC30", a promotional campaign marking the 30th anniversary of Carey's self-titled debut studio album that will closely coincide with her upcoming memoir.

Concept

Mariah's new project ‘The Rarities’ will be a 15-track collection of unreleased songs along with B-sides which will feature 17 singles, Live performances at Tokyo Dome, recorded in March 1996, which kicks off with ‘Daydream’ and includes live versions of singer’s hit singles such as ‘Emotions', ‘Fantasy', ‘Always Be My Baby', ‘One Sweet Day', ‘Dreamlover', ‘Vision of Love', ‘Hero’ and ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You'.

Interestingly, a Blu-ray disc featuring enhanced video footage from the concert will be released exclusively in Japan.
