In 'Mayor of Kingstown' Season 3, Episode 8, a bomb is detonated inside Kingstown Prison, resulting in a catastrophic explosion that leads to death of several correctional officers (COs) and inmates.

Amid the chaos, Merle Callahan (Richard Brake), the leader of Aryan Brotherhood, suffers severe and brutal injuries. In 'Mayor of Kingstown' Season 3, Episode 8, the bomber also targets Kevin (Denny Love), a prison officer. However, he survives and manages to provide crucial information to the Kingstown Police Department.

The prison staff, inmates, and local authorities quickly jump to conclusions, assuming Bunny Washington (Tobi Bamtefa) is responsible for the attack.

However, Mike introduces a new theory to Merle, suggesting that the attack could have been carried out by Russians.

Meanwhile, Konstantin (Yorick van Wageningen) is deeply concerned for Iris’s (Emma Laird) safety following the recent bus accident. He is determined to get her out of the dangerous situation, believing that leaving Kingstown is the best way to protect her from further harm. Mike also checks up on Iris, showing his own concern and support.

After the bomb attack, Merle’s men go to meet Konstantin, seeking answers or potentially negotiating in the aftermath of the crisis. During their meeting, Konstantin takes drastic action and kills one of Merle’s men.

Later, KPD discovers that Bunny and his weapons are missing from his warehouse. Despite their efforts to locate him, they are unable to find any trace of Bunny.

It is revealed that Bunny was behind the attack on the prison, planning the bombing specifically to kill Merle. The revelation comes to light when it's shown that Bunny contacted Kevin after the attack.

Later, Tracy (Nishi Munshi) meets with Mike and informs him about serious issues within the prison. She reveals that correctional officers are abusing their power and raping women inside the facility.

Tracy also shares that Cherry (Natasha Marc) has been a victim of this abuse. Tracy reveals that Cherry was raped by CO Will Breen (Matthew Del Negro).

Mike teams up with Ian (Hugh Dillon) to locate Breen. They track Breen down, and Mike confronts him with intense hostility. Mike beats him and says that he will be transferred from the women’s prison to Anchor Bay.

In the end, Merle is shown in the hospital, violently vomiting blood, a grim indication of the severe injuries he sustained from the bombing and the attack.

Meanwhile, tensions escalate between Kyle (Taylor Handley) and Robert (Hamish Allan-Headley). Robert accuses Mike of having informed Bunny about the raid in advance, which he believes caused Bunny to flee before the authorities could apprehend him.

In 'Mayor of Kingstown' Season 3, Episode 9, Bunny might attempt to kill Merle at the hospital. Bunny's primary motive for launching the bomb attack was to kill Merle, and with Merle critically injured and recovering in the hospital, Bunny could see this as a prime opportunity to finish the job.

If Merle dies from Bunny's attack, it could compel Mike to take drastic action against Bunny. Merle's death would mark a significant escalation in the conflict, pushing Mike to respond decisively.

In Episode 8 of 'Mayor of Kingstown', Merle orders his men to take action against Konstantin. 'Mayor of Kingstown' Season 3 Episode 9 could continue to explore the consequences of this conflict, showcasing Konstantin’s downfall as Merle’s men execute their orders.

Iris could play a crucial role in Konstantin’s downfall due to the key information she has been sharing with Mike. Her insights and intelligence about Konstantin and the Russian operations could be pivotal in dismantling his influence and operations.

Mike might use it strategically to escalate the conflict against Konstantin and the Russian faction.
