'Marrying Millions': Who will 'mama's boy' Rodney choose after Desiry calls his mother 'phony' amid clash?
Rodney and Desiry's relationship is in troubled waters after what went down at the family dinner. As Chandler Bing would say: "Can open, worms everywhere." After Desiry and Rodney's parents exchanged pleasantries, it seemed as if she was in their good books and there would be no stopping her being Rodney's forever person. Unfortunately, things spiraled out of control when Desiry's past relationships were brought up and her intentions of dating Rodney were questioned. She seemed visibly upset when her mother inquired if she wanted to get married just for the money.
Even though Rodney didn't introduce Desiry earlier in the two years they were dating because he doesn't like to keep his parents in the loop about everything in his life, it appeared as if any major decision of Rodney's life had to be first cleared by his mother. In her confessional, she said that he would have to take his approval before thinking of asking Desiry to marry him.
Meanwhile, Desiry thought Rodney was a "mama's boy" given how he sided with her when she said that living in two different cities is a not-so-reasonable option. He added to the tension by revealing that he had been paying her bills, and so has the right to decide who will be moving cities so that they can stay together.
In this week's episode, we see Rodney's mother sharing that she disapproves of Desiry. Later, the couple has a conversation, during which Desiry calls Rodney's mother "phony," which doesn't go down well with him and he makes it clear that she must stay away from using such words for his mother.
The mother-girlfriend clash is evident and out in the open. Who will Rodney choose after Desiry addresses his mother as "phony"? Only time will tell. Desiry and Rodney have dated a long time and that should mean something. Here's hoping the couple is able to decide what is best for them and go ahead with it.
