'Married at First Sight': Mindy makes future plans with Zach, fans say couple will be a 'mess' due to her past
Lifetime's 'Married at First Sight' returned for its 10th season on January 1 and fans have already begun judging on whether or not their bond will survive the test of time.
Marrying strangers can be intimidating, but not for 34-year-old Mindy Shiben who was grateful to have gotten the opportunity to say "I do" to his mystery man, Zach Justice. The two made their promises and got hitched in the presence of close friends and family at the Westin Georgetown, Washington DC.
Talking to the Daily Mail, the figure-skating coach said she had grown tired of dating men who weren't right for her and wanted the experts' help to find her a match. She said she was thrilled to be looking for love on the show but not everyone was on the page with her decision, especially her parents. "It’s hard when someone you love so much disagrees with such a huge life decision, but at the end of the day, I had to trust my own instincts," she added.
Mindy has dealt with a lot in her past, which has impacted her but figure skating, and occasionally painting, has kept the positivity going. She had a miscarriage and is coping with the death of an older sister who died of a drug overdose. Still, she was willing to take the bold step.
Talking about Zach, a fitness professional, she said she didn't layout too many rules for her with regard to physical appearance and intimacy. Luckily, for her, Zach turned out to be quite the charmer and they had no issues getting close on the wedding night. However, she did admit that it was a bit awkward to have Zach in the same bathroom as her as they both were getting with their nighttime routines.
Even though it's too soon to talk about the future, Mindy has a travel checklist she'd like both her and Zach to tick off before having children. "While I definitely want a family in my future, I’m really open to how and when that happens,' she said. 'I’m not glued to the idea of becoming pregnant and I’d be just as happy with adopting kids," the site quoted her as saying.
Meanwhile, fans are convinced that the couple won't last and they have their reasons.
"Mindy had a miscarriage (what about the father btw.?) and her sister passed away from an overdose. One year ago. And she thinks she is emotionally and mentally ready for marriage. This will be a mess. And she looks like an old woman. Zach won't be happy," a viewer wrote. "It’s too early to make predictions but I like Jess and Austin I think they’ll be great. I also like Mindy and Zach I’m just stressed that Zach might be an ass of a husband but I’m praying he proves me wrong bec I love Mindy and would HATE IT if she got hurt #MarriedAtFirstSight," another fan wrote. "Mindy and Zach look like an epic fail. #MarriedAtFirstSight." expressed a fan.
Let's hope Zach and Mindy have a future better than what's being predicted on social media.
