'This is awesome': Mark Wahlberg offers to donate thumb to bring Astros star Jose Altuve back
HOUSTON, TEXAS: Looks like 'Transformer: The Last Knight' star Mark Wahlberg is willing to be a knight in shining armor for the Astros, as he is ready to sacrifice his thumb to bring injured Houston Astros star Jose Altuve back to the game. Mark Wahlberg has seemingly gone past the controversies surrounding him regarding racist comments and is enjoying the game of his favorite baseball team, the Astros, against the Chicago White Sox on Thursday, March 30. Baseball star Jose Altuve was injured during the 2023 World Baseball Classic.
When the Hollywood A-lister was asked how he would give the traditional 'Play Ball!' call, Wahlberg, 51, replied, “It's going to have something to do with my favorite Yankee killers,” before adding, “I am also willing to donate either one of my thumbs to Jose Altuve for sure … I am a big fan.”

‘The Fighter’ star was also full of praise for the Astros' 'Yankee killer' third baseman Alex Bregman. “He's an amazing guy and he's also my favorite Yankee killer of all time,” said the Hollywood Walk of Famer in the pre-match interview. “I've been a big, big fan of his for a while. We just became close friends.”
The actor was also found saying, “I'm just here to support him. I was rooting for him all the way through, of course, when my Red Sox were out, you know, I was right on the Astros bandwagon.” “Of course, once they swept the Yankees, he became my favorite Yankee killer,” said the star, who was originally a Red Sox fan.

“I am an Astros fan,” added the ‘Ballers’ star before continuing. “Listen, I live in Nevada now, I'm a fan of real talent. And, you know what, they have an amazing team, and he has amazing talent, but he's also an amazing person, so I'm a big fan of his, especially." Wahlberg also took to his Instagram to share a video montage of his fan experience with the caption, "Great day with the Yankee killers @astros @abreg_1 and the @flechaazultequila boys 🥃 @aronhmarquez #FlechaAzulPartner."
A star-studded affair
The Astros' Opening Day match was also attended by another genius of the entertainment industry. The three-time Grammy winner, Megan Thee Stallion, also attended the match as she was responsible for making the match’s opening pitch for the reigning WBC champion Astros.

'We’ve officially converted Wahlberg to an Astros fan...'
Host of Boston 'Urban Mornings' said, "If you believe that NONSENSE, I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell to you. @markwahlberg is an unapologetic Boston RACIST who stoned Black kids attending school, called Black girls "nigg*rs & assaulted elderly Asian. He’s NOT giving Latinos no thumb—maybe a middle finger! #BOSpoli." "Fake tough guy," criticized another. "God he was drunk AF here. Probably who gave us bad luck and broke the ten year streak," criticized an Astros fan.

"We’ve officially converted Wahlberg to an Astros fan, even willing to donate a new thumb to our Venezuelan Prince Jose Altuve. You still sticking with your Yankees?" asked one fan. Another said, "This is AWESOME." "Donating a thumb lol, that was good," commented one fan liking the joke. "He just vaulted up my “favorite actor” chart!," commented a Wahlberg fan.
