Mark Anthony Morales, most popularly known as Prince Markie De from the hip hop group The Fat Boys has died at the age of 52. The Fat Boys is reportedly one of the first rap groups to become pop and it was formed by late Darren Robinson (The Human Beat Box), Damon Wimbley (Kool Rock Ski) and Markie Dee. Late Markie Dee was one of the first hip-hop stars who hailed from Puerto Rican descent and later became a producer and solo rapper after The Fat Boys broke up.
Many remember his album titled 'Free' with songs such as 'Typical Reasons (Swing My Way)'. He also wrote and produced songs for big names such as Mary J Blige, Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey and Craig Mack. Later, Prince Markie aka The Prince became a radio personality at 103.5 The Beat WMIB radio in Miami and was known for his "comedic disposition, positive spirit and hijinks, as per All Hip Hop. Recently, he was a radio host on SiriusXM’s Rock The Bells, which was founded by LL Cool J.

The details about how Prince Markie died aren't out yet, but All Hip Hop confirmed that the artist died of congestive heart failure. His death was further confirmed by the official Twitter account of Rock The Bell, where he worked as a radio host and DJ. They wrote, "The Rock The Bells family is heartbroken to learn of the passing of Mark “Prince Markie Dee” Morales earlier today. That voice and his presence can never be replaced. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his loved ones." He would have celebrated his 53rd birthday on February 19, 2021.

The official page of Universal Hip Hop tweeted, "Wowwwwwww it has been brought to our attention that the legend Prince Markie Dee from the Fat Boys has passed away. May you forever Rest In Peace (Do not know the specifics) We need to make this museum happen so we can preserve stories like Prince for years to come," along with a picture of the late artist. Another fan added, "This sucks. R.I.P. to Prince Markie Dee of the pioneering rap group, the Fat Boys!"
